I have tried getting silent hill 3 to run in widescreen but have met with half-results...

there is a file in the savedata folder in the silent hill 3 folder where I can change the resolution to what I want. Works fine.

Then in the game options I turn the control type to 2d type( 3d type control is awful...really unplayable since the camera work in the game is so funky) and as soon As i exit it goes back to a non widescreen solution.

any workarounds?
