If ready now all the solutions for Rome - Total War, but I didn't find a good-one. I've change the preferences-file (1280x800 instead of 1024x786 by the strategy and battleresolution), but the qualitiy of the game isn't really better, for example, a circle is still very streched and the qualitiy of the letters hasn't become better. Generally, it looks still like the streched 1024x786 resolution.
If also tried the solution with and with out the widescreen-option in the game, but the quality hasn't become better.
Is there another line in the preference-editor wich I have to manipulate or isn't it possible to play the game in a real 1280x800 resolution?

I find now some lines in the preference - Editor:
STRATEGY_RESOLUTION:1024x768
STRATEGY_32_BIT:TRUE
BATTLE_RESOLUTION:1024x768
BATTLE_32_BIT:TRUE
UNIT_DETAIL:SUPER_HIGH
BUILDING_DETAIL:SUPER_HIGH
TGA_CAPTURE_WIDTH:1024
TGA_CAPTURE_ASPECT:1.333333
TGA_CAPTURE_INPUT_SCALE:1
CAMERA_FOV:75.000000

I change the resolution (batte and strategy) to 1280x800, but the screen is still strached. Is it possible that I must manipulate another line, perhaps Camera_FOV or Tag_Capture_With or something else to get a better image?

TGA_Capture_Width is the width (in pixels) of any screenshots you take. Camera_FOV might have an effect - if it's at 75 by default, somewhere around the 90 degree mark should 'unstretch' things. :) If it works. ;)
