A general fix for Unreal Engine 3 games (which would include Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Borderlands)... ;)

I seem to remember you saying you had a fix in the pipeline a while ago, but can't find the post... :(

I think you are referring to this one: http://widescreengamingforum.com/forum/15140/mass-effect

HaYDeN: I don't know if you will see this post or care lol, but would Freelancer be a possibility? Loved that oldschool style space shooter. And I know there is a solution out, but I only liked playing on 3rd person view, and the current solution forces you to play 1st person.

Jason's Freelancer Patch includes a widescreen fix that is much better than the .ini fix:

My vote is an eyefinity fix for mass effect 1 & 2. I actually have not played either of these yet because I'm waiting for an eyefinity experience. (My brother told me these games are AMAZING).

My 2nd vote is for an online (non-bannable) eyefinity center HUD fix for L4D 1 & 2, apparently there used to be a fix for this but Valve changed something in a patch that made it only work on unofficial servers.

My 3rd vote is for eyefinity fix on Assassins Creed 1, I just picked this up on the steam sale the other day.

My 4th vote is a center hud fix for the single player on crysis 1

My 5th vote is for BF 1942 eyefinity fix

My 6th longshot vote is for someone to figure out how to get dialog prompts in knights of the old republic working. (It displays perfectly across 3 displays, but all of the dialog prompts are not visible which makes the game unplayable in this setting).

My 7th vote (after thinking about it) is an eyefinity fix for the newest steam release of Worms:Reloaded.

I installed the demo for this but couldn't get it to run. In my search for a fix (which never turned up), I ran into a custom DLL that claims to add some sort of widescreen support. Have you tried it out?

Hey fellow forum members!

First post for me - Mass Effect series has to be the First choice for me! 8)

Any games I've needed NVidia Surround support for I have found here - however Wolfenstein with the Widescreen Fixer doesn't work for me but that's for another post...

Awesome website by the way! Luv it...

Hope to be helpful also to you all over time.

I loaded up Flawless Widescreen for Borderlands, and noticed the Mass Effect fix was in there! It's very buggy, and it's not really playable, but it shows progress! Thanks!

Steam version, don't forget to go into the configuration and set a hotkey, and use it.

Don't get too excited, seems like the hack has trouble keeping the new FoV in place, and the dialog wheel/menus etc. are still Vert-, give the man some time.

Did you manually specify the Eyefinity X-axis resolution in the Engine.ini? I'm wondering because I can get the FOV altered in game, if I keep the resolution 1680x1050...but all I get is the startup vids at Eyefinity, and the menu is still wonky like BioWare left it.

No probs, I'm just excited after waiting years for someone to finally fix BioWare's screwup. :onethumb

That fix is veeeeerryyy old! Way older than this thread and even older than the previous Mass Effect thread. Hayden has another fix which is not released out yet! ;))

I'm not sure why he'd add an old fix to a new program if he's working on his own...

First off want to say HaYDeN you are da man, thanks for all your work, Alice is insane in 3 screen.

Been following this site for a long time had issues making a account but I finally have, and just in time.

My list would be:

- Mini Ninjas (I love this game)
- Dark Void
- Dark Spore
- Mass Effect 1 & 2
- Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 (menu fix, its not usable in 3 screen)
- Front Mission Evolved
- Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale

I would gladly pay $100 for each fix.

Thanks

Mass Effect series is the clear winner...

Just to clarify - The Mass Effect patch in Flawless Widescreen has been in there since its initial release, It has not been touched and it is not playable nor worth even trying, that's not the fix I speak of.

I haven't had any time to do much with FW at the moment, I'll release it shortly, but no ETA.

I've added the majority of titles people have mentioned to my list of "investigation"

Silent Hunter III is IMHO the best of the series. Unfortunately, it is difficult to run at resolutions above 1024x768.

I've searched everywhere on the net for a way to solve the dread "Can not initialize 3D engine" problem.
From what I've read, this seems tied to the graphics card's refresh rate. Eg. 60Hz.
Unfortunately, the ATI 5970 appears to sport a refresh rate of 59.9Hz - apparently triggering the message "Can not initialize 3D engine."

There are a lot of queries on the net about this one.
No apparent solutions (that I have found from several hours searching).

I'd love to see you add this into the Flawless Widescreen Tool, HaYDeN.
I am trying to run this SH3 at 6048x1200 resolution. I'm using the steam version of the game.

Thanks for any help.

Where's the time when people are making patches to help others?

Its donation m8, developers spend a lot of time working on fixes, ppl may (or not, its optional) donate to help these fixes being developted, all the hacks and fixes are released and updated completely free of charge.

The donations are to buy the games that need fixing. It's a bit rude to ask for fixes and expect the person, who is already making the fix for free, to pay for the game you want fixed also. I don't see it as unreasonable.

I've seen instances of people gifting copies of games they wanted fixed, no different.

Patches are free, but it is nice if people want to give back. Also, it is a bit much to ask someone to buy a game they wouldn't normally play, just to fix it.

However, the OP was actually HaYDeN saying, "I have extra money, what game would you like for me to do".

Red Faction: Armageddon (Plus I just think you'll enjoy the game, it isn't bad)

I'd also support a general Source Engine quick Center HUD fix (Portal 2, Portal, L4D2, L4D, etc...) that is a downloadable program that auto-patches the games, instead of dealing with the online Source Engine HUD editor. Though I imagine that isn't a simple thing to do.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to throw some more games into the mix, in order of importance,

1. Mass Effect 1/2 (Already in the works)
2. Medal of Honor 2010 Singleplayer desperately needs an FoV fix, it's locked at 65 or so, and while the game is.... playable, it's very uncomfortable.
3. Crysis 2 HUD Fix
4. Half-Life Source/2/Episodes/Portal HUD fix would be nice... Probably impossible, but it would be nice.
5. Crysis 1/Warhead/Wars HUD Fix, again, would be nice.
6. Borderlands HUD fix would, say it with me now, be nice.

Thanks, HaYDeN!

The last Red Faction Armageddon patch, released some days ago alongside its DLC Path to War, screwed up the FoV fix avalaible in this thread:

http://www.redfaction.com/forums/topic/14265

I have sent private messages to the author, with no reply, I suspect he left the scene and won't reach him.

Could you take a look and fix the FoV?

Assassins Creed - Brotherhood - We need a fix for 3 screens Eyefinity portrait layout. The menu in this layout is not fully visible, because both side screens turn black

Had to register because this is my most anticipated fix so far.

I don't run eyefinity, just hate bad FOV's.

Have there been any updates on the Mass Effect/Unreal Engine fix? I can't wait.

So where did our savior HaYDeN go off to? I don't think we've herd back from him in a little while now.

I do imagine he's very busy with other things though.

Yeah, hope he's doing okay. Must have had something come up, it's like he just dropped off the forums.

I talked to him some days ago, he has very limited free time now to work on his tool, but he may come with a multi-monitor solution for some games in the future.

Thank you for the input!

It will be a reaal waste not to publish his tool for the Mass Effect universe (since it seems he already got it working) along with any other game on which he was working.

But we understand and we are patience!
Again thanks for the input and Hayden we are counting on you:)
