Looks very promising. I might just give up and wait for him. I can get the game to load in while 21:9, but there is a lot of graphical glitches and it quickly crashes. The chuff did CAPCOM do to this game?

Was made for a DX9, 32bit game.

MH:W is DX11, 64bit.

I did try it regardless, even changing stuff in the INI, but it didn't work at all.

FYI, if you go in-game and then go to the second page of camera settings, you'll see an option called "Camer Distance", that will allow you to sort-of change the FOV.

Not a suprise. The latest pre-release version is technically two versions out of date vs release.

Frankly, yes. But I'm not a mod, so not much I can do sadly.

This game is so borked it's unreal with regards to any future of 21:9. We're either gonna have to wait a real long time, assuming CAPCOM fixes it, or pray someone like Kaldaien comes out of no where with a fix.

So excited if Kaldaien is working on it as well. He did really good work for Nier: Automata and Dark Souls 3. I asked him release day about this game and didn't get a reply so it seems like a bunch of others might have asked too. Just want to be able to play without pillars! Someone has to be able to get this working in 21:9 for us. I really wish I knew how to do this stuff, it's times like this that make me want to learn it.

Monster Hunter World SpecialK release. 21:9 is not yet fixed, but listed as a possible future feature.

To add to my last comment linking to SpecialK, the author has stated that the games uses extensive anti-mod BS, even going as far as to check the exe and steam_api64.dll periodically for integrity. This is why the hex edits for 21:9 don't work. Frankly, it's disgusting that CAPCOM did this.

It's never a question of if, but a question of when. Will that fix be released tomorrow or two years from now? Assuming CAPCOM didn't get off to buggering the paying customer, we wouldn't have the anti-modding BS we have in this game, and realistically, we probably would have a full fix by now. However, CAPCOM does like screwing the paying customer, as such the job of making a fix is most probably a long and difficult one. That in-itself assumes the people/person/group(s) working on this don't give up after a time and move onto other projects, making the wait for a fix even longer.

Ahhhh I see, thanks for the detailed response. My only ever experience with sort of modding was with Metal Gear. Seems like such a shame that they have brought this to a PC market without considering things such as resolutions and aspect ratios. Well I hope that the stars working on a fix realise how appreciated their work is!

Special K is our best bet. We just have to wait a bit.
Fluffy's solution is crap at this point...game breaking even. Sure it "works" but it is not playable for any lengthy extent.

Final update:

Throwing in the towel. It's too much for a still-in-University student like myself.

The biggest issue is that the game guts itself in many ways when changing resolution on the fly. It needs to have the resolution be the one that was initialised in the first place. This is where the killer issue comes in. I can't do that. DLL proxing is beyond me at this stage and I'm just not up to there yet. Also, where I do have experience with debuggers and reverse engineering, a game packing Denuvo and at least some-what effective anti-mod milark is, again, beyond me.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge and experience and pick this up. from tomorrow, I'll be busy with IRL♥♥♥♥♥♥♥anyway.

Happy Hunting.

Thanks for trying Mace.

Aww man! What a bummer...that sucks.
Hopefully Special K fixes it or Fluffy.
Mace wasnt a fore-runner anyway but I am glad that we tried to help. At least we have 2 options that might be viable in the future! Thanks Mace for trying

Sorry to have let people down. The odds of me actually being able to make a working mod were pretty bleak, but still.

Like I said, the killer here is the integrity check. If that wasn't there, the game would initialise it's resolution just fine and everything. Only issue would be the UI and HUD being shifted left. Reality though is rearly as simple. To be frank, it really is down to jackfuste/Kaldaien to fix it. The technical ability required is nothing to scoff at and so the number of people who could realistically have a good chance is small. This of course carries the issue that people like jackfuste and Kaldaien are human-beings with their own projects and goals while we're here wainting on then to fix an issue for free for a group of people they don't know to help a company that'd DMCA them as soon as thank them. Then there's CAPCOM. CAPCOM has never fixed this issue before in any prior game of theirs, and has stated that they have no intention of fixing it for Monster Hunter either.

I understand if what I said was a touch dramatic and the like, but it's just being realistic. We're gonna have to settle in for a long wait.

Kaiket fixed what I fucked and found what I missed. Outstanding issues are HUD and lack of automation. Working on those myself now. All other issues resolved.

Automated tool that does everything for you: https://steamcommunity.com/app/582010/d ... 2458259459

21:9 is now accessible for all~!

Just have to get the HUD aligned right.. and pretty much everyone is looking at Kaldaien for that because of his expertise in the area.

Works for me. HUD is perfect when i start up the game and run the BAT
HUD slides to the left a bit when i enter a load screen or travel
Its not game breaking, just a little annoying, but definitely playable.
Game looked like crap with black bars, now it's gorgeous on 21:9 3440x1440 curved!

Yes, the present fix is quite workable in triple wide. The HUD being centered on the left screen however hurts.

Ready to donate for a HUD fix. Any takers? Jackfuste?

Please Jackfuste. I just wanna play the game. Don't leave us trying to find a HUD fix. Have mercy.

Phew.... way better without black bars.
But if he HUD would be Centered that would help a lot.

I'm working on that now. I've gotten the shaders to dump and decompile. Only issue now is getting the stuff I want offset, offset, and the stuff I don't want offset, not offset. :P

Oh?
I've played around with that on Fallout 4.... was a huge PITA.

How does it work with MHW?
Did you find a good guide on how to decompile the files?

I don't think anyone's looked in the files yet with regard to 21:9 support.

There are tools for it though: https://github.com/mhvuze/WorldChunkTool
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/16

Just up to the people who know how to do stuff. :p

Yeah.... had to download Visual Express only to compile that shit and get some errors when trying to unpack the .bin file.... nah that's prolly not what i'm looking for -.-

Edit: okay, got the working .exe from Nexus....

@Mace ya face
Did you already find out which files contain the UI elements positions?
I assume it's somewhere in /common/ui ? ^^

Edit2:
okay /common/text/cm_hud_ara.gmd looks interesting.
Except i have no clue how to open a .gmd file -.- Game Maker Studio 2 doesn't really help....

Edit3:
Or not....
Any clue about the /ui/hud/hud_questinfo.gui don't really get a lot of usefull stuff by opening that in sublimeText

The github page had a compiled release.

There's also this, but I don't know if it's in any way useful now because it looks 7 years out of date.. even though the github release file is from 2016: https://github.com/codestation/mhtools

Something else that seems useful but I know nothing about: https://github.com/IcySon55/Kuriimu

Could try to poke https://twitter.com/MHVuze since he seems to be the resident expert on this stuff.

Intersting stuff, and I have looked into it. Sadly, until someone can decompile/edit these files, I can't do anything with them. I'm not working on this until there is another development. I've come back once after stopping, and now, it's a time issue. I will be keeping an eye out though.

Hi !

Your fix for 2560*1080 was working for me, the "lazy aspect Fix [MONSTER HUNTER : WORLD] (No HUD Fix).

But today, after a update of the game in steam, when i try to launch the fix, this error message appear :

"87"

then

"ERROR : Failed to write to memory! Code:0"

If you have a solution, it would be wonderful ^^.

Thx for your work so far !

There was just a patch today that rendered the Mace Ya Face Lazy Aspect Fix to not work anymore.

Centered UI. Will be released soon.
(Surround/Eyefinity only and based on a 3x16:9 resolution. 16x10 based will not work...)

Helifax, good to see you back patching games for the triple wide crowd.

Looking forward to this one. Hoping it's released for the weekend.

My donation is ready. Happy holidays!

This was done at the request of one of the members of WSGF.
Lazy UI patched is required to make the game render in 48:9, 48:10 in the first place. This will only address the UI!
The game will always render the UI with an aspect of 16:9 even at 4:3 resolutions. I am not sure if this is the actual game or a side-effect of Lazy. As a result, I had to "make" the 48:10 version as well.

For [48:9] Surround resolutions:
http://3dsurroundgaming.com//GamePatche ... y_48_9.rar

For [48:10] Surround resolutions:
http://3dsurroundgaming.com//GamePatche ... _48_10.rar

For [21:9] resolutions:
No support currently, but I think the UI is pretty much working no?

Install:
- Make sure you run a clean game (no mods - including SteamWorks).
- If you use Reshade, delete dxgi.dll or d3d11.dll, as this mod (3DMigoto) requires to be named d3d11.dll.
- Copy the full content of the mod, next to the game exe.
- Start the game.
- Start and apply the Lazy UI patcher fix.
- Once you get to the main menu, press F12 (F12 is a toggle, you can revert back to the unfixed ui as well).
- UI should be centred, so play the game.
- Now go and figure out which mods you can add back and which you can't.

Known quirks:
- some UI elements when they touch the edges of the middle monitor will stretch for a brief moment.
- Mouse navigation will require the old UI position. If you can't click on a menu, simply move the mouse to the left screen and retry (you will see the cursor will wrap and appear back in the middle screen). Same applies for menus there were on the right screen.

Enjoy!

Isn't 21:9 working out of the box? Checking the game at a 21:9 aspect, I don't see any problems....

The triple wide fix is working as described.

" some UI elements when they touch the edges of the middle monitor will stretch for a brief moment" turns out to be quite distracting to me unfortunately.

Here's hoping there may be more tweaks in the future.

Meanwhile, donated for the work thus far. Thank you. Will donate again for further improvements.

Yes, I will look in the future to see if we can tweak the UI shaders more or something about it.
I am not sure we can do anything in the vertex shader (which processes vertices that make the triangles), but maybe there is:) I am just of ideas at the moment :)

Helifax, I was wondering if you could find the time to revisit this title. Now that capcom has introduced 21:9 support (albeit limited), it has introduced some quirks to triple wide support. In particular the map, it seems to move from screen to screen. It may open on the center screen, it may open on the right screen. Not seeing a pattern. Wherever it opens, the cursor is on the next screen to the left, and therefore not functional.

Also, there's still " some UI elements when they touch the edges of the middle monitor will stretch for a brief moment"

This game is too good not to have a suitable fix.

Thanks for your efforts. Will donate.
