They also just ported Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga to PC.

No announcement, no fanfare, it just popped up in stores one day about a week ago. I was rather surprised (and happy) to see it, given how long ago the console versions came out; I didn't think they were going to bother porting it.

I bought it, but have not had a chance to install it yet. I'm assuming the widescreen behavior is the same as LSW2.

I thought it was just a pack of the first two games but it looks like they made some improvements.

Looks like I will have to buy another version of a game I already own. Again. Dammit.

As I understand it, most of the improvements are to the original game (episodes 1-3). The LSW2 content (episodes 4-6, aka the good ones ) are pretty much untouched - except for minor graphical improvements - well, at least in the 360/PS3 version. I'm not entirely sure they've brought the graphics improvements into the PC version (to keep the requirements down). I'm really hoping they did bring in the console graphical improvements, but given the rather quiet nature of release, I'm not all that optimistic.

Still it's a lot of game for a measly $20 - and I never played the original. I should finally get a chance to play it this weekend so I'll let you know how it goes.

Good news: The graphics are the improved ones from the console versions (actually they're an option, there's just one all-or-nothing on/off "enhanced graphics" setting). The improvement over LSW2 is modest but definitely noticable.

Bad news: The enhanced graphics appear to use a post-processing edge-AA (like Dead Space) and normal MSAA is disabled while the enhanced graphics are enabled. Forcing it via the video card doesn't work either. The edge-AA looks about as good as 2xAA, so it's better than nothing, but compatibility with normal MSAA would have been better.

Despite having native 360 gamepad support, it doesn't have an option for vibration, at least not that I can find - which is disappointing given that LSW2 did.

-edit-

Hmm, maybe I'm wrong about LSW2 having vibration? I can't remember for sure.

Lego HP makes sense, after all there was a Lego Creator HP game, there are Lego HP toys, etc. And LotR is so last week anyway.

Thanks Sweetz for the heads-up on the Complete SW Trilogy. As you said, no fanfare, and it doesn't seem to be available in Europe atm... Anything to say on ws/TH support ?

WS behavior appears to be the same as other the LEGO titles - mostly hor+, but a little vert-.

Can't speak as to TH support, but again I imagine it would be the same as the previous titles.

The first LEGO Star Wars was stretched so this may be an improvement for episodes...whatever the hell they are called.
