Here is what I've found so far but I'm not an expert...

1a. Use Cheatengine :
- Replace 1.777777791 (float/Address 140F482A0) by 2.333333254 to change aspect ratio.
- Replace 41800000 (hex, 4 Bytes/Address 140F48320) by 41A8000 to fix a problem with ghost shadows.
Or 1b. Hexedit the .exe directly :
- Search and replace the second (I insist) 39 8E E3 3F by 55 55 15 40
- Search 00 00 80 41 (It's the one just after 39 8E E3 3F ) and replace it by 00 00 A8 41

2. Open graphics.ini in LOCAL DISK:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 and replace numbers by the following :
Letterbox=0
UIOffsetX="0.000"
UIOffsetY="0.000"
UIScaleX="0.800"
UIScaleY="1.000"
TargetAspectX=21
TargetAspectY=9

And that's all !
There is one problem with this method : All USM files (Pre-rendered movies) located in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Yakuza 0\media\data\movie_w64 are STRETCHED.
I tried to correct the ratio by re-encoding them with Vidsquish https://steamcommunity.com/groups/vidsquish/ by changing a profile and it worked (letterboxed or cropped) but I can't figure out a way to add audio...

there was a mod for restoring the original music into the game.

have you tried copying and pasting that mod with your new videos to see if it works?

You could try to replace 39 8E E3 3F by 39 8E 63 40 (Hexedit) or 1.777777791 by 3.555555582 (cheatengine).

Letterbox=0
TargetAspectX=32
TargetAspectY=9

Long time lurker here for fixes for 21:9 displays. I feel like such a mooch. How do you guys learn to make these fixes? I'd really like to contribute, but Idk where to start.

edit: I'd like to recommend using 43:18 aspect ratio in the ini file if you're at 3440x1440, since it's not technically 21:9. Then there's no difference in letterboxed vs. non letterboxed. Using the 21:9 aspect ratio at this resolution still has a zoom in affect, albeit much less intense than it would be using the 16:9.

Earlier, I said - Search 00 00 80 41 (It's the one just after 39 8E E3 3F ) and replace it by 00 00 8A 41 but it's A8.
VGM is great when I want to demux... But it's not possible to remux.
I've tried Scaleform to convert videos but it's not working for me.
So I've tried vidsquish that is really effective but I don't know how to modify a profile to add audio (for video, no problem).

1a. Use Cheatengine :
- Replace 1.777777791 (float/Address 140F482A0) by 1.6 to change aspect ratio.
- Replace 41800000 (hex, 4 Bytes/Address 140F48320) by 41200000 to fix a problem with ghost shadows.
Or 1b. Hexedit the .exe directly :
- Search and replace the second (I insist) 39 8E E3 3F by CD CC CC 3F
- Search 00 00 80 41 (It's the one just after 39 8E E3 3F ) and replace it by 00 00 20 41

2. Open graphics.ini in LOCAL DISK:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 and replace numbers by the following :
Letterbox=0
TargetAspectX=16
TargetAspectY=10

I tried and it worked... But I made a small change to fix shadows :
[16:10]
1a. Use Cheatengine :
- Replace 1.777777791 (float/Address 140F482A0) by 1.6 to change aspect ratio.
- Replace 41100000 (hex, 4 Bytes/Address 140F48308) by 41200000 to fix a problem with ghost shadows.
Or 1b. Hexedit the .exe directly :
- Search and replace the second (I insist) 39 8E E3 3F by CD CC CC 3F
- Search 00 00 10 41 (It's the one just after 39 8E E3 3F ) and replace it by 00 00 20 41

2. Open graphics.ini in LOCAL DISK:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 and replace numbers by the following :
Letterbox=0
TargetAspectX=16
TargetAspectY=10

This is awesome. Never used cheat engine before. Would love to see a fix for 7680x1440P for a triple monitor setup.

hyp36rmax, could you try this fixed exe? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DBLMm-e1TUjVqUFEQEd6yNmiGMSFVR3o

1. Replace your exe by this one (don't forget to backup the original)
2. Open graphics.ini in LOCAL DISK:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 and replace numbers by the following :
Letterbox=0
TargetAspectX=16
TargetAspectY=3

So the 21:9 (3440x1440) will fix the FOV but will stretch the cutscenes?

Only the prerendered USM ones.
Edit : I found a way to edit the USM but it's a really long process...
I'll try to do a 21/9 version (one letterboxed and one cropped) for each one of them. If it's good, I'll do another ratios.
I'll post the way I used to do.

It didnt work for me, probably because 7680x1440p isnt a supported resolution in-game, i'll try playing around with the ini

Seems to default to 3072x768 4:1. The highest is 3584x1440 112:45. Whneever i set it to the highest it defaults back to 3072x768.

Hello! I managed to fix it partially for 1920x1440. I modified the exe, changed 39 8E E3 3F to AB AA AA 3F as per the common hex values article. But I don't know the proper value for the shadow fix. Any ideas?

EDIT: got it running! used this beauty here https://www.h-schmidt.net/FloatConverter/IEEE754.html

just had to change the "16" address to "4" and the "9" address to "3", (coded) modifying the addresses you guys indicated in the posts on page one and two, and learned a bit about hex editing in the process!

Letterbox=0
UIOffsetX="0.000"
UIOffsetY="0.000"
UIScaleX="0.800"
UIScaleY="1.000"
TargetAspectX=21
TargetAspectY=9

Do you know if this method still works with the new patch?

Edit: Nevermind, it still works, thanks!

So I could really use some help on this, I asked in the Discord and was linked this thread and if I'm not mistaken I think this is working correctly? I went ahead and I edited the graphic.ini to what is suggested and then I downloaded the Patch 1 file and extracted it to Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Yakuza 0 > media. It asked me if I would like to overwrite the original .exe file and I said yes to all and went to boot the game up and it didn't work? Not sure what else to do...lol.

No? I don't think so, I just legit followed what I quoted you above. I changed the graphic.ini and then downloaded the "Patch 1" link you have up.

Hello guys, I purchased this title because it seemed pretty simple to fix (same as MGVTPP) but I just cannot make it work properly in a triple screen setup.

I replaced the second 39 8E E3 3F with 9D 2B AF 40 (which is my resolution of 5912/1080 = 5.4740740740740740740740740740741)

I then edited graphics.ini:
Letterbox=0
TargetAspectX=16
TargetAspectY=3

I tried different combination of values but the result is always pretty much the same. Unfortunately once in game the maximum resolution I can choose is 3941x1024, which makes the game literally look like crap.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Yes, I have tried 16:9, 16:3 and 48:9 (which is actually the same as 16:3). No difference.

Thanks for the fixes, guys!

The FOV in 21:9 / 2560x1080 ultrawide seems very zoomed out compared to the default 16:9 / 1920x1080 view with this fix, as in it's overcorrected. Also, the cutscenes are letterboxed slightly with this fix (with letterboxing disabled in the options), but at least the actual render isn't cropped off vertically like they are without the fix.

Is there a hex edit I can use to dial the high fov increase back a bit and get a viewport closer to the default 16x9 presentation, and without the letterboxing in scenes for ultrawide? I feel as though that may be impossible or it would have been done already. The letterboxing isn't that bad, I'd rather deal with that than the tops of heads being constantly out of frame, but the fov is too much for the gameplay here.

Hi can someone clarify which 21.9 fix is working at the moment, i had a re-occuring crash in Act 5 near the start and had to verify my files via steam. It then downloaded a file that it said it was missing which fixed the crash issue but now my fix i applied has broken and the game looks terrible again.

I have tried the patches at the beginning of this thread with no luck and i have also checked the ini settings have been changed correctly.

Currently re-installing game and trying the fixes again

Thanks in advance

How do I fix the shadows at 32:9?
I got the aspect ratio working but when I replace:
00 00 80 41
with
00 00 00 42

The game wont start.

the game added hor+ to 21:9 in patch 2, so no fixes should be needed anymore.

The realtime cutscenes are all zoomed in on 32:9. It happens in quite a few games sadly.

Do we have Jap.Ver for Ultra wide-screen(21:9)?

I copied and replaced it in Jap.Ver but it stops. It doesn't get into Main menu.

Can anyone else let me know how to change it into 21:9 ratio?

I never used Hex or Cheatengine, but I will try.

Don't give up! You're not the only one on the triple monitor train.

But seriously, this is definitely another game that needs support. Please fix!

Which of the two values needs editing? Also, what is that value?

I edited the first hex for aspect ratio value and it didn't change the way the game looked at 4080x768 until I edited the 80 41 hex. Trying to figure out how to get it working on 3x16:10, but unfortunately the game doesn't detect 5760x1200 so I had to go with 16:9. Anyway to get it proper on 3x16:10 or 9?

Edit: Looks like the game actually still sets my resolution to 5760x1200 even with 4080x768 selected. The game just letterboxes out everything, go figure.

Patch 2 by Susahamat works, however, so thanks for that as always, mate!

Here is what I've found so far but I'm not an expert...

Or 1b. Hexedit the .exe directly :
- Search and replace the second (I insist) 39 8E E3 3F by 55 55 15 40
- Search 00 00 80 41 (It's the one just after 39 8E E3 3F ) and replace it by 00 00 A8 41

I managed to get the game running with a 48:9 triple monitor setup. Hexedit values are:
Change 39 8E E3 3F to AB AA AA 40 (address 0x00f48a40 as of today)
Change 00 00 80 41 to 00 00 40 42 (address 0x00f48ac0 as of today)

Graphics.ini:
UIScaleX="0.300"
UIScaleY="1.000"
TargetAspectX=48
TargetAspectY=9

Downside is that the game does not discover the native resolution of 5760x1080, highest res offered is 3840x960. I worked around that using windowed mode:
ResolutionX=3840
ResolutionY=960
RefreshRate="59.940"
WindowSizeX=5760
WindowSizeY=1080
Windowed=1
Borderless=1
RenderScale="1.500"

Plus I added Yakuza to Borderless Gaming https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming so it looks just like it's running fullscreen

You might want to download the official beta patch from steam. Visit the games forum for more info.
They fixed ultrawide and added a FOV slider.

To bring this back from the dead for a sec, the game recently got an update to now natively and correctly support 21:9, but it still doesn't allow for 5760x1080, instead maxing out at something like 3408x1200. Does anyone have any advice?
