Hi.

I was reading the widescreen solutions for X-Wing Alliance and works good.

Also three screens are possible to use, the resolution must be 640x480 on each screen.

Link Video - 3 Screens

Any resolution inside 2048x1536 works.

Capture 2048x1536

I'm running the game on three screens and the sensation was great, i know the
quality of 640x480 on each screen is so bad, ( Total 1920x480 ) but the game doesn't accepts more, uhm, i think...

I was using the hack of BooTx and ERADEEJAY ( Thanks :), with the 1024x768 resolution because
is the most similar than 1920x480 ( My resolution in the game with 3 screens ).
If i use others res , the zoom goes higher and is not possible to play really well.

I'm using Hexit and Be.HexEditor to apply the hack, but i have to know wich codes represent the low resolution options,
like, 640x480 and 800x600, just to make some tests with the zoom issue.

Here a example.....

640x480 ?????????????????????
800x600 ?????????????????????

If it's 1024x768, search for 00 04 00 00 8A.

If it's 1152x864, search for 80 04 00 00 B9 60 03.

If it's 1280x1024, search for 00 04 00 00 8A.

If it's 1600x1200, search for 40 06 00 00 B9 B0 04.

If someone can help me and know the way to find this codes....
May be this resolutions works better with the three screens setup.

Thanks a lot.

May the force be with you :) ....

Sorry, let me explain better...

I know the codes of 640x480 and 800x600, was easy job using Hexit.exe.

I need to find these codes inside the file xwingalliance.exe using Be.HexEditor.exe, just to
replace it by my screen configuration 1920x480.

Ok, i found the code for 640x480 and 800x600.

640x480 is not possible to hack, always use 1 screen.

800x600 , is a good resolution to hack if you want to use 3 screens.
The zoom goes a bit far, and the view is more bigger.

Remember, the game accepts maximum 2048x1536, so i´m playing with 1920x480 - 3 screens, applying the hack.

Tonight i will add some captures and also the ful list of the codes for hacking.

Thanks to all....

Some nice captures using the hack on 800x600 option.

Playing with 3 Screens at 640x480 each.

Some captures hacked at 1024x768 option, like you see, the zoom is a bit bigger and the Y axe is reduced,
so you have less screen to kill Tie Fighters :)

I'll have to try it out, But for me the main bug was the 30fps cap . i wish they would re release it on steam with the newer resolutions etc.

Sorry CoolMan, i didn´t understood really well what you mean.

You talk about frames per second limit ?

I´m doing the test with a old Matrox Pharelia Graphics card 256 Mb that support 3 monitors in span mode.

The game is a bit slow, but at home i´m testing with 2048x1536 with 2 monitors and works good.
I´m not sure if using Matroxtriplehead2go or some new cards with eyefinity or sourround works much better.

Thanks.

Alliance always caps the game at 30fps for me and lots of others.
But i found this fix, so i'd love to try it out again.
