Post subject:  Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta
The open beta started yesterday but due to server problems (I expect due to server load given how many servers they added today) they wasn't giving out any new keys. However sometime in the last 5 minutes the EU server started accepting new keys again, so if your trying to get a key, I would try again now. I'll try and get some comparison screenshots up later although depending on the size of the client it may end up being tomorrow.

I would love to hear how solo-friendly the game is, if anyone plays it and can say.

I think its very, the first proper quest I did (server is down atm, think they are deploying a patch) but the first quest asked me the size of the group taking part, from Solo to Legion, so by the sounds of its it can be soloed all the way though, but they are going to adjust it a bit so that there is more incentive to group up. The game is nothing like the MMOs I'm used to so its taking some time to adjust, atm the game isn't very helpful with what to do when you start.

One bad thing about this game is it really doesn't like my computer, I can't get it to run at 1680x1050 at max settings with a decent frame rate, and getting it to run smoothly at 5040x1050 was impossible regardless of settings, given some people have it running in triple monitor fine I'm guessing its probably hardware or driver related so I'll wait an see if they patch it. The game does seem to be hor+ across the board though.
