Just wanted to give you guys a heads up for anybody that did not know.

Steam has a game called Alien Swarm out now that is a free game released from Valve. Its a pretty good game.

4 player co-op, very similar gameplay to a old PSX title called Loaded.

Alien Swarm on Steam

I cant wait to see if it works in eyefinity :D

Works for me in dual. I was getting a bad stutter every 30-60 seconds for no apparent reason. Have to debug this tomorrow.

Works fine with eyefinity here, you just have to set screen setup in options to 16:9 to see the high resolution options.

Yep tried it, the 16:9 thing is common for a lot of games (I think all source games and this is a source based game)

Good
> Menu not vert- or distorted
> Gameplay is Hor+
> Hud not distorted

Bad
> Hud not centered
> Aiming cursor for me disappears when pointed to the right of my character
> FOV is really distorted so does not add much to the game and often times its just black because your "off stage"

But guess what!!
I just checked the pak01_dir.vpk file, low and behold is a hudlayout.res file ;)
In other words, this should be fixable :D (well, so long as it does not have the same .vpk file consistency issues that prevent the HUD fix from now wokring in L4D2).

EDIT: A quick edit of hudlayout.res + hex edited .vpk file currently shows no difference in game, further investigation needed.

I was really suprised and pleased that this pretty much works with Eyefinity from the getgo. The HUD on the far sides of the screen is a bit annoying, but I got really used to quick glances to check the HUD elements here and there and I have pretty much memorized the time frame for reloading based on the annoying little Gears of Wars-esque reload mechanic. Other than that I am really enjoying playing this game co-op. I am not an experienced editor or modder so it will be interesting to see if someone comes up with a fix to center the UI elements.

A reboot fixed the stuttering, but after quitting once today my mouse cursor got corrupted.

Also the screen just spins like crazy sometimes when I use dual screen eyefinity. I think it happens when my mouse cursor sits right at the boundary of the 2 monitors and the game doesn't know where I'm pointing.

I just read a bug where if you lag when you get hit that it can cause the screen to spin and go crazy. Has something to do with the screen shake effect and lag not working well together.

I hope you guys get the HUD issue sorted soon since the radar is so important on this game I think, I hate to have it on the far right monitor.

SoftTH 2.01 The tooltips are pretty massive.

Has anyone found a way to increase the mouse sensitivity?

Edit: Thanks alot fiskstolpe :)

You have to enable the developer console and set a key for it (e.g. F10). Then you can use the sensitivity command in the console. Default value is 3.
A slightly quicker way is to edit config.cfg located in Steamsteamappscommonalien swarmswarmcfg (search for "sensitivity").
