I don't know wtf MK:A is doing. The aspect doesn't change at all, still 4:3... just zoomed in.

Looks stretched. But without 'real' screen captures I can't be 100% certain.

if it's stretched, it's because there is no actual widescreen support, despite the game supposedly having it. it's 4:3 content being stretched to fill the 16:9 screen.

Yet the option is there in the menu. It's like a false-hope widescreen. Someone else I read described the same experience with the game.

enabling widescreen does enact a change, though I seemingly don't have the photo to show it better. (enabled and the tv set to 4:3) Basically, it's a more zoomed in 4:3 fullscreen. It's very strange, and I guess, broken. It's not anamorphic, it's not letterboxed, and it's less FOV.

Well.. if a console game is vert-, what can be done about it, other than immense community pressure on developers for a fix in a patch? Bioshock is the first one that comes to mind.. did the console versions ever get the FOV fix/option that the PC version did? I just hope that now with every TV being sold is wide, that we'll start seeing an end of vert- games. Maybe once 4:3 is no longer considered will we get proper widscreen. But then, perhaps 2.39:1 will take place of 16:9.

Ensure users are educated about what's the baseline intended FOV, and to not run at an aspect that'll subtract from it.

ie, don't assume it'll look better or you'll see more if there's a widescreen option.

That would be the point of such a list/database.

ie. DO run Guitar Hero in widescreen mode.

DONT run GTA games in widescreen mode.
