"We're happy to announce that the boxed/retail PC version of Dragon Age: Origins will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication,"

Personally, I could not care either way but I guess this shows EA's response to the DRM situation.

Good news, one of my clan mates had a securom disaster on his PC (total reinstall of OS required) so any DRM reduction is good IMO.

And a game i want,
if HOR+ obviously! ;)

I'll buy this for sure, now. :D

I hope they have good sales of this, so that they're willing to try releasing other games DRM-free.

Of course, a more detailed look seems to imply a basic CD-check for single player. Which is good.

Hopefully, they have the sense to set up CD-key check multiplayer... where if two identical CD-keys are trying to connect, only one is allowed. If the actual owner of the key is having trouble connecting, scanning or photographing the box and receipt and e-mailing it is less trouble than spending four hours on a £1-a-minute 'hotline' that in the end basically tells you 'go away and get stuffed you filthy pirate' to beg for another Activation Token.
