I recently started using my 40" Samsung 1080P LCD (LA40C650) as my PC monitor and it looks great. Sharper than I was expecting. Sitting around 3-4 feet from it means that it almost fills my vision while playing games, much more immersive (probably not too good for my eyes though!). The image quality in terms of black levels and colour range actually seem better than my previous 23" Viewsonic.

Only issue is flickering green dots sometimes - I'm using a DVI-HDMI adaptor with a DVI cable; I've ordered a Mini HDMI to HDMI cable to use instead; hopefully that will fix things. There are no such issues with a VGA connection though of course the image quality is lower.

Switching to a Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable has completely fixed the green dots problem, works great now.
