For a distinctively more n00b-friendly experience, I'd recommend R.U.S.E. Same devs, same seamless zoom and nice graphics, same centered HUD in multi-mon. Plus magic cards ! WEE has no Line Of Sight, in-depth tutorial or anything of the sort; it's all about learning the characteristics and cryptic names of both your and your enemy's units, and paying every mistake the hard price. Fun game for mediocre strategists like myself nonetheless, but watch out for a steep learning curve. |

How does this game compare to World in Conflict (one of my favorite games)? World in Conflict had an incredibly steep learning curve but was an incredible game when you did learn it. |

Two very different games (I love'em both). WiC is all about micro-management, every unit has special tools/skills, and reinforcements are parachuted at your feet. WEE is more squad-oriented, has a broader scale, recon is essential (no FOW), and reinforcements require certain zones to be under your control to deploy. Micro-management exists but on a different level: units have morale and gain experience, fuel and ammo reserves must be replenished, random microevents must be coped with (vehicle slowed by rocks or stuck in mud, damaged aiming system or jammed guns...). |
