Some Eyefinity users have reported issues when trying to change the FOV, there are some related posts on page 2 of this thread.

Just curious as to why this game gets a gold/A rating with all the vendor specific lockouts and such :)

eg. no 3d for nvidia users, no centred hud for nvidia users, etc...

If nvidia did this people would be all over them...

A centered HUD in multi-monitor is not required for a Grade-A. While it's crap implementation, it is not a flaw that would give any game a B grade.

Well guys we need an A+ or AA to differentiate games like Far Cry 2 which actually do have perfect support for surround. This Deus Ex situation is pretty silly.

Ever since we've suffered console ports with their restrictive FOVs I've been realizing that the inability to adjust FOV is a total game breaker for me.
I end up playing Deus Ex at 140 fps on a single monitor because I can't change the FOV while in eyefinity mode. I end up seeing more things on a single monitor than on 3.

Oh and out of subject: developers should start play testing the pc versions with mouse and keyboard instead of an Xbox controller. that way they would realize how unpleasant mouse smoothing and acceleration is.

The game is HOR+ so I'm not sure how you're seeing less in surround..

If it's like BFBC2, you don't need to increase the default FOV to use surround as the game adds to the FOV automatically in 3 screen resolutions.

In fact you should increase FOV when running in multi-monitor, otherwise game will be Hor+ but also Vert-, please refer to the Detailed Report for comparison screenshots of FOV x AR in this game.

You can't change FOV in EyeFinity mode for example. And the screenshots themselves aren't as revealing as they could be, where's the HUD?

Its certainly a bug in some eyefinity setups, the FOV option is in the game menu. The screenshots show a comparison between FOV x AR in the game. HUD should be centralized in eyefinity, but many users reported it to be spanned, just as in Nvidia Surround (the multi-monitor solution i run).

Fact is at the moment we've got 2 choices.
1.Play in "Eyefinity mode" and have the centered HUD but be unable to change the FOV because the option is "redded" out.
2.Play in "Surround" mode (NVidia users and ATI multi-monitor resolution without the Eyefinity tag) and be able to change the FOV as you desire but have the HUD spanned.

When I said that I end up seeing less in Single monitor resolution I meant that by using an FOV of 100 in 1920*1080 it feels much less restrictive than an FOV of 75 in 5760*1080 because of the Vert- effect as you said.

I don't even understand why the developers seemed to think it would be a good idea to disable FOV adjustment in Eyefinity but I certainly hope we'll find a workaround or it'll be patched.

Patch notes up for the PC version, steam should be grabbing it for you now.

Highlight from the notes, which tell of plans for a future patch...

"One extra feature we can already confirm for a future patch is support for Nvidia 3DVision and Nvidia Surround."

You may be running out of VRAM (1.5Gb only) at such high resolution, try to play the game at 5760x1080 and see how it goes.

This is another game that insists on overriding the video card's hardware LUT, replacing any gamma calibration profiles that you may want to use with the game.

It appears that the best workaround is to shift+double-click dxhr.exe to launch the game in a maximized, borderless window. This disables the game's access to the hardware LUT while giving the appearance of running in full-screen. I haven't tested this method enough yet to determine whether or not there are any other side-effects or drawbacks.

An alternative method is to set the game to windowed mode, but this mode causes the game window to have borders. I find this to be a huge immersion-breaker.

I confirm that FOV is stuck at 75 in Surround (FOV option is disabled). Is there any way to make it 100?

Possibly. The FOV setting is stored in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HR

The first two characters of g_fov determine the FOV setting. 4B equals an FOV of 75 while 64 is an FOV of 100. Changing the registry value does affect the game but I don't have a multi-monitor setup myself so I don't know whether it will revert this change when using such resolutions.

Replace just the first two digits (leaving the zeroes alone); after the change the "Data" column for g_fov will read 64 00 00 00.

It's already 64 in hex, FOV still stuck at 75.

Has anyone run into this situation here:
http://imgur.com/8poZ2aL,oSEgS3F

Eyefinity resolutions are detected, but when I pick them it crushes the whole thing down onto one monitor. I've never seen it happen before. For comparison, sleeping dogs is here:

I'm running on an HD 7950 with windows 8, updated my catalyst drivers a few days ago. If I run it in windowed mode, it will work fine spanning all three - kind of a let down to go that route though.

Hate to bump an older topic, but has anyone yet figured out how to get the FoV slider worker while in Surround? Mine's reded out like the ones mentioned in this thread.

It looks like the game stores most of the info in the registry. I know you probably have, but did you try setting the fov in single screen and then just adjusting the res? I haven't played this is ages, and I can't even remember if I change the FOV (although at 75, I'd imagine I would have).

Yeah, gave that a try. Doesn't seem to effect the Surround FoV at all.

Just got the Directors Cut edition and have the same problem, I can't change FOV when using Surround resoulutions, the option to change FOV gets locked at default 75.
Is there by any chance a fix for this?

Anyone looking to for a fix for 21:9 monitors i have found one

So the main issue with the game is when you have 21:9 resolutions is that the game stretches the image so you need to fix the aspect ratio so it stops the stretching

Cons of the fix (so far haven't played beyond the start of the game will up date if i find more)

Cutscenes stay in 16:9 (dose not include in engine scenes)
Menus stay in 16:9 (that means inventory and map menus)

Fix
You will need to edit the registry
Run regedit navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC\Graphics\ (Or Deus Ex: HR if not Directors Cut i think only have DC)
Find AspectRatio and edit it set it to decimal

Ok this was the hard part to work out (thanks to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Widescreen Solution & Issues for the formula)

The formula is:
AspectRatio (decimal) = Width Divided by Height x 10000
So for Example 2560x1080 is 2560 divided by 1080=2.37037037 x 10000= 23703

Setting the AspectRatio to
23703 for 2560x1080
23888 for 3440x1440
Your game should be in 21:9 now (don't worry about the black bars ratio works in game)

That seems to have fix the stretching issue in engine so happy 21:9 gaming

*Deus Ex: Human Revolution 21:9 fix ultra wide fix*

That 21:9 fix is great! It works for the original version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I've updated the listing to cover applying the 21:9 method for both versions.

The FOV setting is unlocked in windowed mode, so simply switch to windowed mode and make it borderless. I have added instructions to the report. This works for both the original release and the Director's Cut.

AMD Eyefinity HUD correction doesn't work in windowed mode (the HUD spans across the output), but everything works and has the correct aspect ratio etc.

Does it get reset when you switch back to exclusive fullscreen? Playing with windowed borderless isn't an option for me because of SLI.
