Who stole my long thread pages? Now all I see is 10 posts per page. It's killing me. Making threads 100's of pages long!!

It's been bugging me for aaaggges, but I wasn't sure if there was a notice on the change or if I just missed it or something.... Skip... Help? Anyone else liked longer pages per post?

Yessssss. I forgot about this, I've been meaning to make a post.
10 posts is so incredibly short. I don't know if this is to try and make each thread as long as the side bar on the left, but that's a losing battle as you never know how long someones post is gonna be or if it's going to be filled with pictures and the like.
Put it back to 25 at least. Or add the option in the user CP. I like 50.

doesn't PHPBB have the option for users to pick how long thread pages should be?

Nice thread. Must admit it gets hard trying to find a post/picture/quote when you gotta flip through pages instead of scrolling.

THe beauty of the MX Revolution...has the freespin wheel.

Any chance we can get the posts beefed to say 25?

yes, i agree....
10 is simply ridiculous.

i have noticed the founder reply but will still add my reply.

normally there could be two main reasons for this - on any forum.
first, which has been touched on above - advertising revenue. the more pages the more banners can be "served". (useless for most savvy surfers with add blockers and such tools)

second, server load issues. it's faster to load/fetch pages that are shorter, especially ones with pictures attached/linked. this goes for all forum software. mind you, the phpbb version that wsgf is using is rather old for forum software.

and yes, newer phpbb's have that option both for admin/user and then some.
