I've tried browsing with IE, Firefox, and Seamonkey [ mozilla based ] latest versions and the forum is always fixed at beyond normal page width [in other words, widescreen ratio ]. It does not scale to fit the browser window.

I have to scroll to the right to see post dates etc.

Is the forum set that way, or is the fault on my side?

The forum is set to work best at 1280 width.
I.E.
1280x720
1280x800
1280x960
1280x1024

It will fit within about 1190 wide. If you're running at 1024x768, then it's going to require scrolling. If you have your fonts larger than normal at 1280xXXX, then it may still require scrolling. According to our site stats, less than 8% of users are at 1024x768 or less.

Actually whenever there is an image that the forum code automatically resizes the pages are still messed up at any resolution with 1280 width.

I had to make some adjustments to the image resizing code to fit the top banner. If folks would post smaller images, that would help. ;-) It's still better before we got the image resize code.

I'm running at 3072x768...

I would run higher but Matrox won't allow higher refresh rates at higher resolutions - for no good reason, since the Parhelia can do it. 60hz at a higher res is unbearable on 21" CRTs and I have yet to see LCDs that match trinitrons, so I'm sticking with them until they are no longer made.

It should scale though, at least to fit 1024x768. Some of that 8% might be future converts
