NOTES FOR THE NWN SERVER:

Server is 1.68, update to 1.69, and then get the downgrade patch from Bioware (there are instructions there on the website too), once done, sign on and jam out. I'll be swapping the server back and forth between Prelude and Chapter1 till I see enough people have joined up and levelled up, then I'll start swapping Chapters 1 and 2, and so on and so forth, so people can play the game full through.

How does Sunday sound for everyone? I'll shut down my CS:S server that runs side by side (it's a dual proc server) so we get the full 1gb onboard and both procs to rawk on. The server is unmodded so things should run smoothly, although I think I should install some sort of frame rate enhancer. I would like some people to connect and play before we actually do this on Sunday so I can know if this is feasible or not. We'll have a "bomb the server" night on Friday to test it out and give me Saturday to work out the kinks if any.

I have a 20 player public TF2 server up. Anyone from the forum that wants to join and play is welcome.

Assassins from Ziest - Vanilla (NY)
208.167.234.203:27015

This is hosted at Gameservers.net in New York so the ping should be good all around.

~93ms for me in the browser, so about +15ms when in-game (since the computer will also be doing a lot more)

The 83rd Division has also welcomed the WSGF to their COD4 servers. You can get the full details in this forum thread

I must have spaced out sometime recently. How long has the NWN server been up? I'll have to try that out.

Cynagen, I'm jealous of your net service. Who is the provider? I'd rather get speed boosts like yours than bandwidth caps (Comcast just notified me of the 250GB cap...time to call customer service and lite someone up :twisted: ).

-edit-
Tried connecting to the NWN server. No joy. Couldn't find the server in the lists and direct connect to the IP failed. I can ping 74.53.76.7 successfully, but not with port 5121.

I'm not new to online gaming but I am to NWN online gaming, is there a useful guide/reference somewhere someone would recommend to get started? I'll be reinstalling nwn1 after years too so a refresh is likely what I'll be needing.

@Mesh
Anything particular about the online NWN experience you are wondering about? In it's basic form multiplay NWN is just you and buddies co-oping through the regular campaign/missions. Of course there are tons of mods/custom modules and the DM mode, but I've played none of these

Are you wondering more about character classes and such? I'm not sure I'm addressing your particular question(s).
