Post subject:  Freelnacer "True Widescreen"
Ok, here are 4 easy steps to make Freelance "True" Widescreen. This is an edit from a post so I did not come up with the resolution, I am not the author I've just edited for corrections and verified it works!

1) Go to my documents > my games > freelancer and open "prefoptions.ini" in notepad. At the bottom it will say [Display] and underneath size change it to 1920,1200 or what ever widescreen resolution you use. Now save and exit.

2) Now go to c: > program files > microsoft games > freelancer > DATA . Once there open "cameras.ini" in notepad

Delete whats there and paste the following.

fovx = 63.504809977813375

[CockpitCamera]
fovx = 90
znear = 2.000000

[ChaseCamera]
fovx = 90

[DeathCamera]
fovx = 90

Now save and exit.

3) Now go c: > program files > microsoft games > freelancer > DATA > FONTS > Once there open "fonts.ini" in to notepad. Now delete all whats there and paste the following.

I'm eager for those comparison shots, I wanna see if this is widescreen. If it is i'm going to make a quick-install patcher for this, fix the INIs and then allow you to run the game.
