Hello ...
I have created an exclusive Widescreen Gaming Forum desktop widget/object ... :D

The two glass globes revolve in different directions and the cog rotates clockwise.
It is a standalone exe program ... and uses very very little if not any cpu ... :D

Disclaimer:
Copyright widescreengamingforum.com
This is a free to use desktop object/widget it is exclusive to the Widescreen Gaming forum and may not be distributed.
Download and install at your own risk.

Download ... Click Here - I'm about 5.5MB

To use ...
You need WinRar to unzip ... Click here download WinRar
When unzipped just double click the exe to start up the "cog".
The cog can be moved to where you like on your screen by holding down the left mouse button and dragging it to a new location.

Double click the cog in the middle to shortcut to the WSGF.
The clear "glass" outer earth is a recycle bin ... it accepts drag and drop just like the windows one ... right click it for a menu or double click to open.

Also ... there should be an icon in your system tray.
If you right click it you will see that there a few options in the pop up menu ... Hide ... Close ... Preferences ... and About

Preferences allows you to alter some settings like shadows ... transparency ... whether it is to auto start when windows starts etc.

Just for information ...
To use the Recycle Bin in the widget rather than your normal windows one you can either hide your desktop icons by right clicking your desktop choose ... Arrange Icons By ... ... and un-tick the option Show Desktop Icons or just cover up the windows recycle bin with the cog widget.

Please let me know what you think ... I would appreciate any feedback.
Look for "Game Themed" versions in the future ...
Enjoy .... :D

Here is an example of how it appears on my desktop in conjunction with a walpaper I made ... The Matrix meets Quake ... meets WSGF ... :D
click the thumbnail to enlarge ...

PS: Please PM me if you are a WSGF member and could host this file too.

Cool, looks really good. Finally an even quicker way to access WSGF.

One point though, is it possible to make the globes turn a little slower. I think people are going to fly off if it turns this fast. :D

Hi glad you like it ...

To get it to go slower ... and be smooth would require more frames in the animation and for some reason I can't get the creation process to accept any more frames than it has at the moment.
I could make it go slower by increasing the time between the frames of the animation but it would then look quite steppy ...

This was the best I could do for the moment ... but I haven't given up yet ... If I sort it out I'll let you know.

I will be adding this to our downloads section in the very near future. Just plain busy at the moment.

Paddy,

Great little device!

Thanks for your taking the time to work on & developing this.

BTW:

I was fooling around with the settings for it & removed it from the Sys Tray & moved the opacity slider & now I can't find it

I know the little bugger is somewhere -- but where I don't know   Now I'm playing "Where's Widgit"

Hi Doug ....

Do a search for ... GadgetCache ... include hidden files and folders.

Inside this folder there should be another called WSGF Cog and Recycle Bin ... delete it as it should contain the settings for the widget and then you should be able to start it up again with the default settings.

If not get back to me and I'll see what I can do.

I used DesktopX Pro from Stardock ... glad you like it.

Soon I'll be putting up a competition to see who can design the best desktop wallpaper that incorporates the widget ... :)

Oh and ... a big welcome to the WSGF ... :D
