So after being a console gamer for the last 8 years or so, I've gone back to PC gaming. Started last year with a Lenovo Gaming laptop and this year decided to go full desk top. I've ordered a pc, just waiting on the 1080 GPU.

Originally I was going to use my TV a LG 4k OLED but have decided to go monitor, so this weekend I've ordered the ASUS PG348Q. It was a long process in getting to this monitor. I never thought I'd spend £1000 on a monitor but after the wife saw it she said I could have it...lol. Back when I used to PC game, you just handed over £100 and got a monitor, wow how things have changed in regards to monitors.

I've been hanging around the forum for a few days and today as my PC gaming draws nearer I've joined, so a big hello from Wales.

Welcome Iscoed1815.

Hope you enjoy your new monitor. I have a curved X34 Predator G-sync (100Hz). Don't know what games you like but I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience playing Witcher3 on 3440 x1440 @95Hz.

Needed a minor tweak to get it to work on the Ultrawide but this site helped on that score.

Just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider and that needed no tweaking at all.

Both excellent fun.

Welcome and enjoy the games.

Thank you, TBH your posts are one of the reasons I joined. Your experiencing what I soon will be, and asking questions I know I will be asking. Also we both seem to like the same games, so will be helpful in the future.

Looking forward to seeing Assassins Creed (the last 2) and Total Warhammer in Ultrawide!!

Nice to know my recorded experience helped.

I haven't played Total War for years. Was waiting for Deus Ex- Mankind Divided, but might try Total War -Warhammer. Have you played it yet?

@ Lawnmower man, yes I've played Total Warhammer on my laptop, great game. I picked up Total War Atila plus all DLC for £7.99 in the Steam Summer Sale, fantastic price for a great game. I spent about £150 in the summer sales, got some bargains like Shadows or Mordor GOTY edition for £3.99, Mad Max for £4.99, Assassins Creed Unity for £10.99 and Syndicate for £8.99 plus many others..lol, just waiting on my new rig to play them.

Great.

Have fun. I'm not too technical so have to check out the GamesDB to see if I can actually do what's necessary to get the game to run on the Ultrawide. I haven't used Flawless Widescreen yet.

Played Shadow of Mordor a year or so ago on my previous non-Ultrawide monitor and loved it.

Well finally got my GTX1080 rig this weekend and wow it's fast. Had a slight problem with a third party DP cable I bought from Amazon on the Asus PG348Q, just wouldn't work, so using the supplied one at the moment. Assassins Creed Unity hitting a solid 100fps in the starting area, The Witcher again 100fps, Wildstar a max of 60 but dipping to mid 50's in some areas, Total Warhammer 80 plus, all on Ultra settings, Ultra sized units etc.

Can't believe how fast Windows 10 boots on an SSD about 10 secs, maybe slightly less!!

I've ordered another DP cable, lets hops this one works!!
