Is it possible to fix the character distance in this game?

It received a FOV Slider in April, but that's all it does, and the character still takes a huge chunk of the screen, so my main concern is: If there is a way to fix this with Hex Editing or whatever other solution there is, will I be banned ...

Like almost all UE4 Games you can hex edit the FOV - look for 35 FA 0E 3C FF and change it to 35 FA 3E 3C FF, or for higher FOV 35 FA 4E 3C FF.
