There is no General FoV...
There is only the specific FoV.
You need to know the Distance from your Eyes to the center of the monitor, then you can set the FoV to match the "Natural FoV of your eyes".
Or you simply play around with the slider and set it to a value you find comfortable.

I've played around with the FOV slider in different games, but I'm never sure if I'm really getting it right. There is a slight curve to the LG 29UC88; what is the best general FOV?
