I bought the Samsung S34E790C 34" for $799. It got decent reviews on a few google searches I did regarding picture quality, price etc. It replaced an old Gateway 24" 1920x1200 monitor that I had. It generally got better reviews than the Dell 34" although the Dell I think is a bit cheaper.

I am running 3440x1440 with a GTX 980 Ti FTW card and I have found that most of my games support it one way or another. Many natively, others using an .ini edit. I tend to run slightly older games (typically 2+ years old) and it runs very well on Ultra for lots of them. Current, cutting edge games ...
