I'm trying to remove letter boxing for the current game version 1.0.0.397609 with no luck. Neither Hex editing (czarman's method) nor widescreen fixer (with plugin by helifax) removes black bars. Is it because game got updated, can anyone please confirm?

It took a while to test. The only way to get rid of black bars was to use fixed exe linked to at wsgf (5_4 in my case). With settings like this http://i.imgur.com/XbKsQBF.png the image is stretched and the hud is stretched.

If the HUD and cutscenes are stretched with these exe files is it how it supposed to be?

Resolution is 1280x1024, game version 1.04 and I tried fixed exe from here m - which removes black bars but the HUD, fmv cutscenes and the image overall are stretched:
