Can anyone tell me why the mod doesn't work for me? Did I install it wrong, is it not compatible with my copy of the game?

I installed the Resolution mod by extracting both files to the UFO Aftershock root folder but everytime I try to run the game it loads just fine but the resolution is still locked. Is it because I have it in XP compatibility mode? But that shouldn't mess with it because I didn't tell compatibility ...
