Wow, a tool was finally made to fix this game because the devs are too incompetent to change the FoV scaling method.

One simple flick of the switch in UE4 (..and a possibly re-design of all fixed HUD placed elements), that's all it takes.

I did try to do the standard change myself, but it did not ...

A Japanese developed UE4 game doesn't have 21:9 support? (or anything besides 16:9?)

Yeah I tested it shortly before MH:W came out and found the .ini edit did nothing.

Submitted feedback about 21:9 support back when they did a closed alpha some 8 months ago.

Still doesn't support it to this day, despite multiple other people also submitting feedback.

Unreal Engine 4 is absolute ...

No we can not, a request for proper multi-monitor support is still valid, what you should of done rather then ask for the thread to be locked, is pointed out a fixed for 21:9, might also fix it for multi-monitor. However there is no guarantee of that.

I don't think anyone's looked in the files yet with regard to 21:9 support.

Well there's a hidden gem.

Played this a ton growing up. A rare RTS with RPG mechanics, felt unlike anything else at the time. Hell, it still feels unique to this day.

Would love to see a working modern resolution/widescreen fix for it too.

Was made for a DX9, 32bit game.

MH:W is DX11, 64bit.

I did try it regardless, even changing stuff in the INI, but it didn't work at all.

Denuvo is going to hurt progress.

Then again, being a JP developed game (incompetent), a simple hex edit might even work.

Either way, my boat's on Kaldaien (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SpecialK_Mods) looking at it.. if he plays games like this anyway.

If not, well, I won't be playing this until a major sale.. if that ever happens.

It's also a sprite based game, meaning it's pixel perfect scaling in all resolutions/aspect ratios. Aka, it's anamorphic.

It's also easily playable in a small window.. and objectively easier if you have a big screen since you can see way more without moving your eyes all over the place.

This should be reduced to a silver grade.

Finally playing this all these years later after discovering the "Yamatai patch" which has an option to stop the nausea inducing camera shake.

I've also noticed that the cutscenes seem to be zoomed in way too much. While diagnosing bizarre performance ...

Game was updated and no longer pillarboxes to 16:9.

However, they don't understand what FoV scaling is, so it's rendering Vert-.

I haven't tested, but I'm going to assume the fix here no longer works.

Bunch of people coming back to the game for NEXT, myself included, only to find out a large portion of the mods we used ceased being updated, including this critical 21:9 HUD fix.

Absolutely disgusted to see Hello Games never added proper 21:9 support.. or proper anything support for anything ...
