a patch that came out after the fix broke it. go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\DeadIsland\out\Data\Menu\Scr and open MenuUpgradeCharacter.xui, change the resolution width and height references from 3840 x 720 to whatever is appropriate for your setup. gg glhf

after using the fix go into your C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Documents\DeadIsland\out\Data\Menu\Scr folder and open the file called MenuUpgradeCharacter.xui then change all resolution mentions from 3840x720 to whatever your accuall rez is.
