I would get a HDMI to DVI adaptor and plug the odd monitor in via new DVI port

Just saw your question.

Go buy a HDMI to DVI adaptor. About 15 dollars. Then migrate the monitor using the DisplayPort plug to the new DVI port. This should solve the issue. I had the same issue and worked for me.

OK the answer to your question is YES and Yes/To My Knowledge. YES a GTX 670 can play a game full screen on the center monitor while still displaying content on the outer monitors. Everyone, The issue you are having with exact same monitors not working when using the Display Port for connectivity to one of the monitor is due a sync issue. The easiest way to fix this issues is to purchase a HDMI to DVI adaptor. Should cost about 15 bucks. Then connect the monitor via DVI cable....
