Your post made me realise I could do something along those lines using a batch file, with contents like this:

"C:Program Files (x86)ATI TechnologiesATI.ACECore-StaticCLI.exe" Start Load profilename="eyefinity"
G:gamessteamsteam.exe -applaunch 550 ...

I usually run my PC with each monitor as an extended desktop (i.e. I have three 1920x1080 displays, so a maximized window fills just the one monitor), but for a number of my games I switch into Eyefinity mode (one 6000x1080 display).

At the moment I just have an icon on my desktop for switching ...

Interestingly that did exactly the same as my initial attempt, i.e. I ended up with mirrored displays. And in that situation, the screen resolution slider would only go up to 1920x1080.

I got the problem before I touched the driver. But when I did remove then re-install the latest driver, then yes, I did delete my presets and try to re-create them and it is in fact trying to create the Eyefinity preset that doesn't work, as I described in my original post.

What really puzzles ...

I've got a really odd problem. I've been using my Eyefinity setup without problem for 18 months now. I usually run in an extended desktop mode for work, web browsing & single-monitor games, and have a separate Eyefinity group preset that I activate when I want to play widescreen games.
