If the retail version did not require the disc in the drive then why would they have copy-protection and cracks online?



I couldn't tell you, I just installed with the 2 dvd's. put them in the case and away. and started it with no troubles.

Would it help if you had the exe to ...

I made an account on this here forums to ask for updates on the retail version of the fix.

FYI, you don't need to CD to play, just to install.
