For the record, the Optoma HD66 is actually a 1280x800 (720p) projector, which it can scale a 1080p image, not really hard to do.

I imagine that we will end up using a digital distribution method for games before we can use blu rays for games. In order to handle some of the possible high resolution textures, we may need something much bigger than even blu ray discs (possibly multiple blu rays), especially for applications ...
