U2311H DP issue.
So I got some mDP > DP cables so i could dump the adapter, but the monitors do not recognize the cables are plugged in and when i switch them to a DP connection from DVI it says "Entering power save mode" and shuts off.
Has any one else had this issue??

haha stupid me, i just mean like Crysis, and warhead pretty much. i would like to know how it does in 5x1 and how well the 5870s handle it in eyefinity either 3x1L or 3x1P

Hey Ibrin is it possible for you to do a Crysis Bench? Or just let me know if its possible.
That would be the main deal breaker for me doing 5x1, if its not supported or i need to invest a ton on GPU power to do it lol.

Re: Pros and Cons of 5870s
If you don't need the DisplayPort 1.2 support, that the 6k card series has support for, then go with 5870 e6, but beware that the card might be to slow for some games. 5x1 is a VERY huge resolution.
I am well aware of the possible slowness at 5x1, and for someone like me it is no worry after ...

Pros and Cons of 5870s
So My next few months goal is to get 5x1p, Currently there are only 3 cards that support it. 5870 E6, xfx 5970 e6, and the 6990.
So in Realistic terms the 5870s (250 a pop) seem like the best option for a Moderate gamer playing the Crysis Series, NFS, and Dragon Age. Before i buy i would like ...

Re: Dual 560GTX Ti w/ 2GB GDDR5 & 4xDVI+1xHDMI +Surround support
Interesting, but two questions pop to mind, is that 1GB per core, 2 GB total, also, isn't NVidia surround limited to 3 monitors by the drivers, thus rendering both the extra DVI and the HDMI ports as useless if you want to run in that mode?
from what i have seen of it it is 1gb per core. And ...

Re: WSGF Review of the AMD Radeon HD 6970 & HD 6950 - Updated
Personally, I'd go for the 6990. There is a performance improvement, and I found the cards noticeably quieter and cooler in my office. Looking at NewEgg, the 6990 would set you back about $150 more.
It is amazing to see the Black Edition cards from last year still out there for $1k...

So unless i misunderstood those graphs there is really only a minimal FPS Difference in 5870 E6's and the 6990 in 5x1... if so i am depressed now. lol

If you're 5x1P or 3x2L and bothered by the look of the card, something is wrong. Shouldn't you be more interested in the gaming experience than the look of the card? Then again, I've never been a style over substance type of person.

Re: 5870,6950,5970, or 6990??
5x1P is pretty much uncharted territory up till December 2010. For awhile I didn't think AMD was going to release it because of the limited userbase. I'm mostly curious to see how much the new 6870 Eyefinity 6 will cost. Not seen anything about a 6970 or 6950 version yet though.

Re: 5870,6950,5970, or 6990??
Shortly there will be new 5x1P capable cards, but for now the 5870 Eyefinity 6 is the only option. It's a shame you didn't get the itch to upgrade a few days ago when the 5870 Eyefinity 6 was on sale for $180 at Newegg and Amazon. I picked up my second one with the deal.

5870,6950,5970, or 6990??
well right now Newegg has the Sapphire Radeon 5870 EyeFinity 6 edition for 280$. I was lookin to upgrade GPUs and get either the 2 5870s and CF them or 2 6950s and CF them. Then i saw that the 6990 is "possibly" getting released on the 8th, so that made me look at 5970 prices which will (cross my ...
