It's not surprising that a game in alpha stage like Endless Space would work well in multi-monitor. I've always said that it actually takes more work on the developer's part to make multi-monitor NOT work. The only extra work that needs to be done for multi-monitor is to make the HUD placement ...

If it's broken on PC then

You're missing mý point actually. I wasn't implying which version was better, I was agreeing it IS broken and contemplating WHY.
Also meaning, that there's probably not much they will do about it as their main platform is probably the console.
Ports tend to suck... just like I'm having issues ...

Looks like publishers don't want my money. I usually rent from Gamefly to try a game before deciding if I want to buy it. The same goes for PC games if it's available on consoles. If this is all true, of course. This is still speculation at this point.

I also watch people play games I'm ...

My former roommate had a 52" Samsung DLP that I connected my computer to, but there were some severe overscan issues using HDMI and like most televisions, the color was washed out using VGA. I actually had the same issues with my Playstation 3 over HDMI, but oddly enough, my Xbox 360 looked great ...

Skyrim is a CPU-bound game, so most of the performance bottleneck comes from your processor. Skyboost improves performance mainly by replacing FPU calls with SSE2 calls. I'm hoping there will be SSSE3 and SSE4.1 versions in the future.

Should start lobbying efforts for proper widescreen and Eyefinity/NVIDIA Surround support in case this comes to fruition.

Is this still available for testing? The link in the OP is invalid. If you uploaded a new version, you need to update the link because Mediafire generates a new file key for every file uploaded even if it replaces a file with the same file name.

Televisions generally have

Televisions generally have more input lag than a monitor. If the control issue is really hindering your enjoyment of the games then I would consider connecting your Xbox (I assume you're talking about Xbox 360 since you mentioned Gears of War) to your monitor instead of your TV. If you can, do it ...

EVGA makes a GTX 570 with 2.5GB of VRAM, the GTX 570 HD 2560MB. If you have the money for pair, you can't go wrong with them (they retail for $399.99 each). I can't speak for its multi-monitor performance, but I purchased one of these myself for single screen 1080p gaming and I couldn't be happier.

I'm gravitating more towards the 590, because I truly don't want the headache of running two cards ...

I would stay away from Tritton because it's a MadCatz brand, and they have a reputation for having the worst build quality of any peripheral manufacturer out there. I can attest to that, having not bought a MadCatz product in more than ten years (when I have the choice). Only MadCatz products I own ...

Make sure there is enough

Make sure there is enough current going through your +12V rails, not to mention that you have a separate lane open for each card. I've read that the 6970 requires at least 18 amps, plus a little extra head room since you never want your power to be maxed. So I'd say 25 amps each. As for power ...

The performance difference is

The performance difference is negligible. While it is slower, you wouldn't notice any difference while playing a game if one card is on an 8x lane.

This article is based on last generation hardware, but there really isn't much difference between the 5000 and 6000 series cards.

Been long enough so I'll add a reply.

Went ahead and ordered the EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD 2560MB. I've read around and found people reporting several newer games hitting 2GB of VRAM usage at 1920x1200. I decided to go with nVidia because of my good experience with them in the past.

Going by pure pixel real estate you can certainly see more on a 16:10 screen with a comparable resolution. When coding I prefer to have a 16:9 screen in portrait layout myself.

Aspect ratios on displayed, as eZ pointed out, is based on the number of pixels spread horizontally to the number of ...
