Re: Monitor and video card selection

The graphics card I picked up recently, was the SAPPHIRE 7970 GHz Edition 6GB.

The 6GB of vram is awesome, especially if you can go crossfire.

For my monitors I went with 3x Asus VE278s. However honestly at a normal desk 3x 27" screens are a bit too big. Most monitor stands don't have enough ...

Ok, just resized back to 1920x1080. Umm... the graphics are horrible >.< The original looked better. Most glaring right now are the horrible shadows, and the lack of any options to change anything aside from resolution.

I'm getting massive amounts

I'm getting massive amounts of tearing with vsync on or off with eyefinity. All other games are working fine.

Running AMD 6950 with 12.6 drivers.

Also, is anyone else having to totally quit the game in order for the settings to take effect?

Got mine a few days ago.

Got mine a few days ago. Again, whomever is sizing this got the measurements wrong. There is no way 3 28" would fit on this thing. My 3x 27" screens are barley able to fit on the ends of the rails, and I can't get the end caps back on to secure them.

Other than that it's a pretty solid design ...

Awesome find. Sadly the 3x1 was sold out =/

Oh well... if they twist my arm, I'll just buy the 3x2 since its on sale as well for well less than what I can get a 3x1 for elsewhere.

Now lets hope they are truthful. I've got 3 27" Asus monitors to mount on the bottom tier and 3 19" to mount ...

I'd love to see this information, plus if people were brave enough. Tear downs and debezelled measurements. I know my old monitors once torn down reduced the bezel gap by a couple of cm.

As far as the AMD/ATI vs Nvidia....

I've had both, and my 100% preference is now for AMD cards. In terms of ease of setup, updates, and swapping back and forth between multi-monitor and single monitor setups, AMD wins IMO.
I had dual GeForce gtx 460s in SLI before. I lost 1 card, and suddenly ...

I like the sound of your setup. Though it will pose a couple of challenges.

Honestly in prior patches all I needed was to put in the correct TESV.exe to get my old patches to work. Think i've got an old 1.3v sitting around that worked with Hayden's patch just for this reason. Though I wanted 1.5 so I could use mods =/

Forgot to save a backup copy of the 1.5.24 exe.
