In theory the 2 ati cards should work fine, maybe catalyst has detected the addtional screens and you just need to re tweak the eyefinity profile.

However if it helps, my ATI and Nvidia combo works flawlessly, I infact use my ATI card to render games, and my Nvidia card as a dedicated PhysX ...

In theory, so long as you don't enable crossfire between the card you want to run the 2 other monitors off and the one your eyefinity setup is on, you should just be able to add another ATI card and connects the monitors to that. Mixing and matching Nvidia and ATI cards and drivers can be tricky ...

I have a 6970 and with the help of wagoo was able to get it running 5x1 using the 11.8 preview drivers and 5 27" monitors... in the pic you'll see two monitors to the right that are black i attempted to run these off a secondary eah3450 and eyefinity picked them up in the combo and killed my 5x1 ...

have a question as well... i have a second card in the machine a eah3450... i wanted to plug in the two monitors on the right that you see stacked... it works but catalyst drivers are picking them up on the eyefinity ACK which kills the five screens i got... i thought it would ignore them because ...

Thx for the reply I had to do a fresh install of Windows even after driver sweeper had too many NVIDIA and matrox drivers installed so after the new win 7 64 install I installed 11.8 preview drivers and 5x1 worked!!!! The debezeled 27s look great

its time to redo my windows 7 system anyway may do a fresh install and then run the 11.8 preview driver...

11.8 doesn't include 5x1 sadly. You need to install 11.8 preview, then 5x1 will be available. If it's not, then run driver sweeper first and it should show up.

I was able to still have 5x1 available on 11.8 release if I upgraded from 11.8 preview.. but then CCC failed to load properly ...

Installed and still no 5x1 now going to boot into safe mode and run driver steeper 3.1.0 and reinstall 11.8 preview one more time will keep you posted ... On a side note previously I had 6970 flickering and red lines it turned out to be the higher end dual link dvi cables I switched to single link ...

Actually here is the scenario... you buy the 5870 2gb you play for 8 months a better nvidia or third party card comes out and you switch over now you have 6 monitors and a new video card that has only 2 ports.. hmm well that stinks...

Actually I've been running six screens on two TH2G units for a while - It's Very Nice. I'm using vertical span mode so my resolution is 3840*2048. It doesn't require any special setup but there are a few issues.
