Damn this game. Why can't I run it in widescreen AND windowed mode?

If anyone figures out how to do this, I'll buy you a beer.

Just bought this game from steam and tried this trick but am unsuccessful. I have the hacked exe but could not get it to work right.

I set the game to run in windowed mode, will this interfere with anything?
