Something tells me the board used in the video is NOT the same one detailed in the slide.

There will probably be several connector options for this upcoming "Cedar" product. Not all of them will support 3 heads simultaneously.

It looks like the EyeFinity control panel is reading the max res reported on each of the DVI jacks (3840) and then multiplying by 2. It's a behaviour that works for 99% of other cases, but this one is special, since your monitors are reporting a max resolution that you don't actually want to use. I ...

So would this not be possible if they just went with HDMI instead. Why not just make it with 2 DVI and 1 HDMI with none of them shared. How can this be possible with DP but not with HDMI. I guess I just don't understand why they didn't just use 2 DVI and 1 HDMI. Or 3 HDMI ports. And get rid of the ...

Woohoo! Thank you wardtuk, that worked. So, my guess is, that since the CCC was not responding properly to an attempt to "arrange", there was some condition of registry values that was present and it just choked. I think switching it to a different slot allowed us to start with a fresh registry bra...

I tried the dp to vga from apple, it doesnt seem to support 1920x1200,when i make a group it forces all three monitors to do 1600x1200???

Can you access 1680x1050 as well?

Not exactly the best, but at least it's the right aspect ratio.

I'm having a similar problem. Create group, 3x1, Accept, and then it comes back to 3 clones, with the control panel looking like this. I can't even click ok, or apply, or cancel, or anything. Frustrating. I had it working once last night, but not at all tonight. Don't know what's going on.

Speaking of ncix, I was just surfing their site and it surprised me to see how many 5700 series boards they've got in stock. I hear people complaining all the time that they can't find the new cards anywhere. I guess everyone is searching for the 5870 and 5850, and that's all they're willing to take...

However, if connected to the VGA input of the 19", and you try and expand to 3 monitors, you get this error message from CCC: "Displayport Link Failure" "The system detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your displayport display. Your display might not s...

Rock and roll!

What happened when you hooked the adapter to one of the side screens?

Did Windows or the CCC see the monitor at all?

Hi Greg, This is great news. So am I right in thinking that I can get my two VGA LCDs and one HDMI/DVI LCD hooked up using this method? Sure, that should work. I'd hookup the DVI monitor to one of the DVI jacks; use a DVI-I-to-VGA adapter on the other, and pick up a a DP to VGA dongle for your thir...

EyeFinity currently runs all screens at the same resolution and orientation. That is the only hard limitation. The monitors don't have to be the same brand, or the same model, or the same size. It's perfectly fine to mix and match whatever you like, so long as all of your screens support one resolut...

I've done this before. It's kind of UGLY, but it works. EyeFinity uses a concept of "primary monitor". If your primary monitor supports a max of 16x10, then EyeFinity will attempt to run all of your monitors at 16x10. 16x10 on a 19x10 display generally gets S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D from side to side, so it...

As soon as the DP monitor gets turned off, its game over for me.

Interesting. I've seen that too. Even just turning off the power on the DP monitor seems to make the driver re-initialize all of the displays or something. Weird.

[quote]Nice but you used lack of Physx as an argument against eyefinity? I dont see what that has to do with anything. If you really want Physx you can get a Nvidia card and use it as a PPU while the ATI card drives the eyefinity. this was definitely working on windows 7 (since seven supports multi...

Yes, I really do. Gimme some time to track down the camera and all the bits and pieces for this. Any particular game you want to see on the screens?
