This is what I did..

after the system told me 182.5 was installed I reinstalled the drivers to get the control panel etc loaded.

Now running Windows7 64bit on 5040x1050x59Hz! Had to go to new Matrox software and Nvidia 182.50 Driver.. and it Runs.. Suspect it's now driver related.. 182.5 is a Vista Driver.. had to force it to take it.. but it was not straight forward, So it's possible to do it, it's just not too easy..
