Re: Steam Link & Controller 1st Impressions: The Good, The B

I'm very late to the party here, but I just wanted to add a few things for this review for anyone who happens to be curious about trying this in 2017. I haven't seen any updates on this topic on this site since this review. (Or maybe I'm just terrible at searching...)

Re: Sol Survivor Surround?

While I have three monitors I don't have Surround/Eyefinity so I can't test this (and SoftTH doesn't work). But I think you can try the demo, they did some improvements to the whole resolution management in a patch a while back, and if I recall correctly they also patched the demo accordingly. In ...

Re: Steam Overlay in Eyefinity

As Abram stated you can modify the Notifications.PanelPosition value in steam.styles to change corner. However, games have the ability to override that default position (e.g. Left 4 Dead and Torchlight) and any major Steam client update will reset it.

The specific layout files for achievement ...

Re: Alien Swarm - Steam Download - Free!

You have to enable the developer console and set a key for it (e.g. F10). Then you can use the sensitivity command in the console. Default value is 3.
A slightly quicker way is to edit config.cfg located in Steamsteamappscommonalien swarmswarmcfg (search for "sensitivity").

Re: Considering 3 30" eyefinity setup for next build- questions

TV movies are usually in 16:9. To my knowledge, most movies are actually 2.35:1 (or similar). And while that would only be able to stretch across two 16:10 monitors in landscape mode with black vertical strips of roughly 25% on both monitors, you could actually span it across three monitors if they ...

Re: Considering 3 30" eyefinity setup for next build- questions

Watching movies in Eyefinity isn't that great. The screen doesn't stretch across all 3 screens. Instead, mine overlapped about 25% on each side monitor.Have you tried a player like http://splayer.org/index.en.html ? That one seems to be pretty good at handling playback across monitors (at least ...

Re: Considering 3 30" eyefinity setup for next build- questions

Wow. A bit off-topic but may I just ask how much a 30" costs where you live?

I'm contemplating replacing my 22" Lenovo L220x with a Dell 3008WFP (I already have two Dell 2209WA as secondary monitors which I'd probably use in portrait mode next to the 30"), and here (Sweden) that Dell costs ...

Re: Steam : what do you think about it? any quirks ?

As far as I'm aware it's only possible to disable the Cloud sync in the Left 4 Dead games (maybe other Source games as well), not globally. I don't know, that's one thing I don't like about Steam, some really basic things like that one are just missing or not working as expected. Take the ...

A while ago I wanted to play through DX once more, and after searching back and forth I finally found this fix: http://www.kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm

I've played almost half of the game with this fix (with Direct3D in 1920x1200) without any problems at all, so give it a go and see if ...
