Well here's the latest I have. Give it a shot and tell me what works and what doesn't. Apart from 1280x720 I don't know which resolutions function, and I haven't tried multiplayer at all. I'm sure there are interface problems with it, and a lot of them could probably be solved. Check the issues sect...

If you can't type the resolution in UniWS then that means the executable must differ in some way from the one that I used. I got the full game a few weeks ago so I'll look into it here in the next few days and try to come up with a solution for you. edit - Well I found the problem in the instruction...

I tried fixing the demo and was able to have some success, but widescreen resolutions were Vert-, which sucks. Higher 4:3 resolutions looked fine (I tried 1280x960) but unfortunately crashed the game when selecting the [F1] viewpoint (cockpit). Here are the strings I changed in case somebody wants t...

I actually tried to come up with a widescreen solution for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 about a year and a half ago and had limited success. I was able to boost its resolution from 640x480 to 720x480 and 848x480 (a weird one, I know), but anything higher than that resulted in an access violation error. I didn'...

Oh and here are some screenshots to demonstrate the results.

1280x720 (16:9)
1280x960 (4:3)

If your current monitor doesn't support (or Windows doesn't think it supports) 1600x900, then games most likely won't even list it as an option. That doesn't necessarily mean it won't be listed when you put the game on your new laptop. Oh and I wouldn't assume that a resolution isn't supported just ...

I gave it a shot but I think you're probably out of luck with the original MDK. I was able to get the menu screen resolution up but anything over 640x480 made the gameplay crash without rendering.

Another vote to Mass Effect 1/2 And Oni (i can dream) I installed the demo for this but couldn't get it to run. In my search for a fix (which never turned up), I ran into a custom DLL that claims to add some sort of widescreen support. Have you tried it out? http://wiki.oni2.net/Daodan_DLL

Steam often has its own protection implemented into the executable making it impossible for hex fixes to work without downloading and using the retail/cracked executable. Whether or not this causes issues with Steam or VAC I couldn't say, as I don't use Steam.

I'm afraid you're out of luck with the Steam version since its executable is encrypted which inhibits the hex editing fix. You need a cracked executable in order for this fix to work. Now from what I've heard the retail executables (No-CD executables) should work fine with Steam. However, I don't kn...

Nintendo was also ahead of the curve, supporting progressive scan on all early games for the Gamecube. Unfortunately they removed the digital out on later models, the first one being the black and silver models. I have a black Gamecube with a digital out. It's a shame the production run on GC compo...

| Yeah I found a couple errors. The correct second string for that executable is: 20030000eb0cba00040000eb05ba0005000083f803b9e0010000773fff2485e45d56008b442404b9e00100008910894804c204008b442404b95802 As stated I don't even own this game and have been going solely off the demo. | Ah but it is different. Where mine goes 24 85 e4 4c 56 00, yours goes 24 85 e4 5d 56 00. That should be your problem. Fix it in the patches.ini file and you should be good to go (assuming the other string is correct - make sure you check closely). |

The only reason I can think of is that your specific executable differed slightly from the one I used so the strings didn't match. I'm sure I could make it more universal by using a string that wasn't quite so specific (long) but oh well. If you take a look at your executable you can compare the str...

Well I found a couple things, but I doubt they'll help solve your problems. I've tested on a system with an ATI card (5670 with an old CRT) and a system with an nVIDIA card (GTX 260 with a 1440x900 LCD) and on the nVIDIA system I initially had a problem using 1280x800. Attempting to change to that c...
