I found the solution... the path to the rise2.ini file in vista is C:UsersinsertusernameAppDataRoamingMicrosoft GamesRise of Nations I found it helps to edit it to match your screen resolution in as well this tells it what the minimum resolution is that you wish to use (also the res the game launche...
