i too am having troubles running it in widescreen, (1440x900 16:10)
i have tried the FOV tool and the .ini hack but every time i go to check in the graphics options if it changed it i crash back to the desktop with a Direct3D Error.
i know that is for Hitman 2: Silent Assassin but the .ini ...
