Thanks.
Guess I'm missing out then because I have no intention of ever uprgading to Windows 7.
Hopefully nvidia comes to their senses and makes their 3D drivers Vista compatable. |

Hello, Been a while since I posted. Anyways,I just bought the 3-D converter box for my Mitsubishi DLP so I can play PS3 and watch DirecTV in 3-D. Now I'm curious if I can hook my computer up to my DLP and 3-D compute. My specs are: C2D E6850 @ 3.0 GHZ GeForce 8800GTX 4GB DDR2 Vista 64 I'm not lookin...

I had a little time to do some adjusting yesterday. I think the 'fuzziness' might actually be the 'grainy-ness' of showing fine text at 1920 x 1080 on a 46" panel. The pixel pitch size of the panel is 0.531mm which is roughly doubled that of a typical 24" 1920 x 1200 panel with 0.27mm dot pitch. I ...

Thank you everyone for your input. It will still be a few weeks before I am ready to upgrade so I guess I will get a chance to check out the new Ati cards. Also, this may sould like a dumb question, but what does screen size have to do with the performance of the card? Shouldn't only the resolution ...

I am looking to upgrade my 8800GTX because PNY just replaced mine again, so I can sell it as new (I already have a buyer). But which card should I go with? The 9800 Gx2 for $390, the GTX 260 for $330, or the GTX 280 for $470? I am looking for performance without overclocking and hardware stability (...

I am using a 32' 1080p Sharp, but I tries the 1080p Toshiba first. I did nto like the Toshiba at all! It had terrible overscan and I just didn't think the actual picture of the Regza was that good either. And this is the new line of Regza that started using Sharp panels (Still much better than the p...

Mario 64 is like that. My guess is because of overscan. On your N64 back in the day you would not have seen the black bars, but now on you computer overscan is a thing of the past.

Very interesting...
Installed anything, updated drivers or...?
No game or driver updates.
The only thing at all that I can think of is maybe I havn't tried the game since I installed Vista SP1.
That's the only hardware or software change in the last 3 months. |

So, I decided to play the game yesterday because I havn't played in a while. I loaded the game up, realised the graphics were looking much better than last time so I checked the resolution. 1080p!!!!
The game defaulted to 1080p without me doing anything! I won't question it, I will just be grateful. |

Like on my westy the hdmi input is quite a bit worse then my dvi input, regardless of cables. The chipset is different and more borderline/error prone at 1080p. Agreed! I had a Westy before my Sharp and the HDMI inmput looked terrible. I had to use the VGA imput for my computer and I always had con...

Careful making such a broad conclusion about HDMI-DVI vs DVI-DVI, the cable is not the only variable. The receiving chipset is another, and for that matter, the dvi one could be in 1080p and the hdmi one in 1080i ! Especially on a DLP tv... On MY DLP, both the HDMI and DVI inputs are 1080p. The DVI...

OK. I just went and hooked my PC to a 65" Mitsu DLP 1080p. Success! The game had no problem running at 1080p. I hooked it up via both DVI-HDMI and a Duel Linked DVI cable. Both worked so the cable is fine. Also, The DVI cable lookes MUCH better than the DVI-HDMI. It had much smoother lines and curve...

Does Crysis let you Alt-Tab back to the desktop? That might be a way to prevent those hard resets. This may be mumbo jumbo but I have found that some programs that will not let me Alt-Tab at first will let me do so if I have some other application running. Like Notepad. If I force the res to 1080p ...

Do you still get sound in the game? If you do it can help you focus on the display signal. If not, well that would be bad. Yes, I do get sound. I can hear game music and even my mouse scrolling across buttons in the video options. A Hail Mary here, but is it possible that Crysis at 1080p is too muc...

Ah ha, you said monitor so I assumed it was not a TV. You still should be able to game at 60Hz on it even though 1080i HD broadcasts are in 2x 30Hz. I looked via Google searching, in the entire cvar list for the game and on every page of the Tweakguide and refresh isn't mentioned anywhere. You may ...
