Re: GFWL dying the not so slow death (Aug 22)

Yea, unless you have an irrational faith in Microsoft and Win 8 you really might want to do some legwork on your current titles and any you might want to get down the road.

When the Marketplace shuts down, there will be no other way to purchase that DLC unless the publisher creates one, so it’s ...

They are killing the online store on the 22nd.

I have no idea if there are any exclusive GFWL games that do not have a retail counterpart. I know some would require importing from EU to US or vice versa.

Might want to scroll through the (relatively meager) list to check things out before it ...

NVIDIA probably should of unannounced this. Trivia question territory.

Possible GTAV/RDR PC

http://www.gamespot.com/news/rockstar-h ... pc-6411194

"Rockstar Leeds are currently looking for a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform," reads a line from the job ad as captured by Rockstar Watch.

RDR is one of the few titles that I consider getting for my PS3/dust collector.

Re: Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition FOV fix

Seems like most modern fighting games have inherent issues with "zooming in". Or growth hormone usage is rampant.

Maybe the next DOA will crop off the heads.

Re: Double Fine Funding Adventures

I was thinking more about the fate of Kickstarted games outside of DF's at this point. They seem to have stepped in it even though their name has mostly shielded them from most of the criticisms.

Although if they don't make enough off of the Steam early access sales maybe they will rate a new ...

Re: Double Fine Funding Adventures

Double Fine just finished their Massive Chalice kickstarter last week and have just come out and said their adventure game that really started the kickstarter video game craze is out of money and only half done. They are going to try and sell early access to the first half of the game on Steam to ...

Darkspore requires an internet connection to play the game, which EA says is not intended as a DRM mechanism. Much like Diablo 3, Darkspore requires players to be online even if playing the game solo. Items and ...

It's only available for sale on Steam and there are rumors it will be pulled from there too. Sounds like the whole EE thing may get KOed.

Re: The War of the Preowned Games is Coming

I wouldn't put much stock in the game sharing thing. If it comes about it would be horribly limited to prevent reselling. Also Valve has existing license agreements with everyone that already sells on Steam.

EA and Ubisoft require Origin and Uplay but are going to allow their Steam games to be ...

We recently removed Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition from sale on Beamdog and the Apple App Store. We've taken this step at our publishing partner's request as we attempt to resolve a number of contractual issues.

This also prevents the launch of Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. I sincerely ...

So a PC port is possible? "This isn't something we've really discussed, but it depends on the demand. Currently it'd require a pretty expensive PC, but if we get a lot of people in the future who want to play it with full specs, I think we can discuss supporting that."

So the quality of the ...

LLotR already supports widescreen but multimon has cropped cutscenes. IIRC there is a game option to force an aspect ratio or get it automatically from the resolution.

If you are getting stretching after choosing your correct aspect ratio option then there is a good chance your graphics drivers are ...

FFXV is being developed with a tool called Direct X 11. With this tool it's possible to port the title to various hardware. Following yesterday's announcement [for PS4] we would like to announce that we are porting Final Fantasy XV to Xbox One as well.

Tell me more of this tool. Sad.

Re: The War of the Preowned Games is Coming

The more I think about this the more odd it is. The licensing fees from the big third-party publishers are the main revenue source for the non-Nintendo consoles. Was told by an EA developer less than a year ago how season pass was basically mandatory. Now it is gone.

No way in hell that are walking ...
