yeah but his is a WS monitor. i think he has specific drivers tho, therefore he can select 16x12 adn the monitor must auto-adjust the aspect ratio. i dunno. i can force it to work in bf2142, im happy with that for now. :)

yeah i have also just discovered that my monitor wont go past 1050. ill look for aspect scaling in my drivers, strange that the Aspect Control option for my monitor is disabled in the panel.

ah well. guess i can deal with 1280x1024 in the games that wont do ...
