Video grunt vs CPU Grunt?
Here we go. The two set up's. A. Quad core CPU @ 3.6 GHZ running FSX using a single 3GB GTX 580 @ 2560 x 1400 for a single monitor, B, verses a Quad core CPU @ 3.6 GHZ running FSX using three GTX 580's for each monitor (3 monitors) @ 2560 x 1440. To run the extra monitors at that configuration, will ...

The diagram on the Nvidia cite shows one card used for each monitor, 3 monitors, 3 cards. The forth card is used for accessories, 2 of the DVI ports for each monitor. (5 monitors in total possible. The motherboard I ordered can carry 4 cards. expensive set as one needs 4 cards. All that said, never ...

Thanks for the reply Skid. My plan was to run 5 x 24" monitors Portrait mode. I think 4 should do it, so I changed my post from 5 to 4. On the Nvida Cite, 3 cards = 3 monitors surround, 4th card will run 2 accessories. What that means? With Flight Sim X windows can be undocked, I wonder if the side ...

Thinking the same. My other
Thinking the same. My other thought, the latest 1920 x 1080 120hz 27" 3d unit. Less pixels, but 3d. The 2560 x 1440 would have greater clarity though. The decision based on immersion. My question, the 2560 x 1400 will look stunning, but is 3d worth the swap from the beauty of 2550 x 1400? A lot of ...

What about 3 x 30" @ 2560 x
What about 3 x 30" @ 2560 x 1600 monitors? Would 2 x 580's handle something like that for flight sims like FSX? Be expensive, and much better than 3 x 24" units running @ 1920 x 1200?

Will this work... Surround, SLI but different memory with 2 cards?
This is the rub. 1st card running 1 monitor having a memory of 1.50 GB, the second card, memory of 3072mb running 2 monitors. Both EVGA 580's. Monitors Res 1920 x 1200. Samsung BW 245. Would the 3GB of the second card help running the 2 monitors? Using this for X Plane and FSX. Do both cards have to ...

Re: Nvidia Surround vs TH2Go?
I was thinking keep it simple, thus triplehead no 3d most likely would work the best. I know some really like 3d but for the expense, keeping it TH2go 2d.

Re: Nvidia Surround vs TH2Go?
Thanks for the replies. The monitors are Samsung's 1920 x 1200. FSX very CPU dependent but a new sim to replace FSX called Flight is being made. Got a 2600K being made in my spare time for FSX. FPS is my main concern. Can I get 1920 x 1200 with 2 x GTX 580's? That would be a deal breaker. Since 24 ...

Nvidia Surround vs TH2Go?
I have Matrox TH2Go for FSX and wondering if a second GTX 580 using Nvidia Surround provide me with better frames per second? Anyone switch from TH2go to 2 x Nvidia cards and get better FPS? Any advantages in going that route though the GTX's are expensive? Thanks in advance.

Matrox Updates DTH2Go for 3x1440x900 and 3x1680x1050
That is great news! Got 3 x 24" Samsungs (in boxes in my office), a couple of SLI'ed 8800's and a new PC waiting to go. It is a digital unit. Glad Matrox is supporting the product and making it better. All I need now is the time to do all this. Thanks for replying. BTW: Hey Paddy, nice to see you ...

Good news. The BDG team have a new patch in the works where the FOV will be increased from 110 to 135. Will post findings when patch is released.

Triple head with 3 x 24" LCD's vs A big 42" HDTV?
Ghimpi, I am not very savvy with computer stuff, thus when you said 3600x1920, is that three monitors at that resolution each? Triple head with 3 x 24" LCD's vs A big 42" HDTV?
I don't think the 110 FOV will be an issue. Rumor has it the BOB team is working to increase the FOV for Triplehead. An observation when driving my car made is, I cannot look at my gauges and see the road at the same time. I do not know if that is the same when flying, as I am only an armchair pilot ...

Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory ... TripleHead
Hi Paddy. You did a great job in explaining what BOB can / cannot do. I like those pics. With Track Ir, if one needs to see the gauges, is it possible to zoom out? I will be flashing my triplehead next month time permitting. I got all the gear and no time to run it ..........DOH!
