Maybe the OP wants extra portrait width when the monitor is rotated to portrait mode. In portrait, 1200x1920 > 1080x1920.

If you are willing to consider a non AMD/Eyefinity solution. You could go with 2 x Nvidia 460GTX's in SLI.

So, a few years ago, I took the plunge into widescreen gaming and purchased a Matrox THTG Digital for around 420 + tax. Now a few years in, and we have Eyefinity and Nvida Surround and I am left with a piece of hardware that seems almost useless. The maximum resolution on the TH2G is 3 x 1650 x 1050 ...

Ok so I purchased 2 more ultrasharps because of the 1 day sale..

How is performance with 3 x 24 inch?

I have a 9800GX2... would that be sufficient? I have a 2407ultra sharp from dell, if I picked up a few of the cheaper 24's from dell, does anyone know if this would work?

The only thing it doesnt really answer though pertains to the size of the monitors.. As in, Ok I understand that I can use 3 x 1680 x 1050 monitors..

But the only monitors I know of that support that resolution of 20 inches and well 22 inches (and larger obviously) ... So ...
