There's another posting on the focum where another guy originally posted the same problem. Paddy realised what was up and it turns out you need to use a cracked EXE from gamecopyworld. The one that comes with my bought game didn't work, causing the switching between the two FOV aspects.

Definitely doesn't work in the Menu screen for me. it sort of 'jumps' into perspective a second after the gameplay begins, then jumps back to normal aspect whenever the camera is moved high or low, or when the camera is near a wall.
Checked the properties of the EXE, its definitely v1.0 ...

One thing I notice is that the FOV hack doesn't work for the in-game menu screen. It only activates when the gameplay actually begins.
In fact if you turn the Aspect down really far in the FOV hack it produces 'juddering' of the menu, like the two modes are being switched between really fast ...

I've got exactly the same problem as blackrat - the FOV hack is working, but whenever i move the camera into a cetain position, the FOV goes back to normal, then when the camera becomes stationary again the FOV from the hack is re-applied! its virtually unplayable cos it keeps jumping between the ...

Can anyone tell me how to use this utility; it doesn't seem to do much - i've tried using it before i run tomb raider and during the game. its got sliders but no "save" or "activate" button; can't figure it out!
