No worries, I appreciate your time.
FEAR seems to work just fine, yes. I've just reinstalled Windows (last night) and will be reinstalling FEAR in the next day or so and will try again then.

| Ah, I see. I have that patch, and while it does add WS support to the FEAR configuration utility, it does not do so for EP. You'd think they'd patch them both at the same time with such a feature. I think I tried the read only trick, and it recreated the file anyway. It must have something to do wit... |

No answer is a stupid answer!
I have verified that I'm doing it all correctly. No matter which resolution I try, it does the same thing: Right back to 640x480.
