I think its interesting to have the esteemed Governor backing this absurd law. As opponents have pointed out the games are already rated, trying to take anything beyond ratings systems sort of infringes on various rights.

Re: RUSE Demo is finally here
I'm not a fan of RUSE's graphics. I've tried the beta and I wasn't that impressed. It's hard not to compare it with world in conflict, which I think was a lot better.
The graphics are different and I like the unusual approach. Its like the Team fortress of RTS, cartoony but still needs the ...

Re: RUSE Demo is finally here
I wonder if I can read a thread about an Ubisoft game for the next few years without seeing the phrase "DRM."
Actually I think Ubisoft, DRM and [insert rant here] are pretty much a given for the forseeable future...

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
the larger areas are nice for a console shooter port.
Supposedly its not a port, they had a separate development team working on the PC version.
At least thats what they said.

Bioshock 2 - No dedicated servers and display info
Good news bad news...
Sounds like they are making an effort with the visuals;
Bioshock 2 will support single-screen 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions. The game has been optimized to ensure that all game elements such as menus, HUD, UI, etc appear exactly the same regardless of what ...

Re: New Ghost Recon Game!
While some of the strategy was lost from the original GR series with GRAW, I actually like both games and load them every so often. Right now I'm playing through the games again after reformating my HD.

New Ghost Recon Game!
So more info has come out about the new Ghost Recon game, but are they going to dumb it down?
Doesn't sound good....

Maybe they consider what the game ...

Re: Steam : what do you think about it? any quirks ?
Hmm, I never got a single one of those "Payment failed" screens (in the six times I bought games since the Xmas sale started).
Same here....until I tried (and eventually bought) Mass Effect yesterday.
Just one of those things I guess.

Re: Steam : what do you think about it? any quirks ?
I'm having trouble buying games through steam atm. It gives me an error message @ the screen where you select payment option... It's kind of frustrating... Anyone else experiencing this?
Ditto....got through eventually, now its taking forever to download.
Ahh the cost of saving money....

Re: Steam : what do you think about it? any quirks ?
As convenient as steam is, I miss buying, racing home and loading up a new game. With the number stores carrying a decent range of PC games or the new releases, its not unusual for me to drive to a couple of stores.
Then if I do find it, it has to be registered or load up through Steam ...

Upside
Never have to worry about scratched or lost disks
Always patched within a reasonable amount of time
The biggest sell for me
Reloading games after reformatting the HD is as easy click and wait...no re-entering keys, etc
Downside
Miss reading through a game manual for the first ...

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising
Although I've had the game since its release, real life, upgrading to Windows 7 and other distractions have kept me from spending any great time with it.
